So there's a new climate report out from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Which do you want first — the good news or the bad news? LOL jk, it's all bad news!

The NOAA has confirmed that July 2015 was the warmest month ever recorded on Earth. The average temperature across the Earth's land and ocean surfaces was 61.86 degrees Fahrenheit — 1.46 degrees

warmer than the 20th-century average, 0.08 degrees warmer than the previous record set in 1998, and the hottest month since humans began recording global temperatures in the 1880s.

The findings verify preliminary data released several days ago by NASA and the Japan Meteorological Administration.

Here's what our super hot July looked like.

I don't feel particularly hot here.

We are at 1200m elevation, the sun is felt, but the air is not sauna and there is also soft cool wind.

24-hour mean temp in July was 22.4°C here (average high of 28.1°C), so still clearly below the 24.5°C mean of July 2006 (avg high 31.1°C). There was also only 11mm of rain, so this makes this year officially a Mediterranean climate (Köppen "Csa"), and that at 50° northern latitude

We had the hottest 2months straight I ever remember here in the desert which I've lived on & off for almost 20 years. And I was punished by God to work during this time out of all times.. I think I had heat stroke 2-3 times with a week straight being over 115degrees which is over 46 celsius every day.

Coastal northern portugal doesn't really have hot summers to begin with. In any case for this summer here are the averages compared to the norm:

The damage to the agriculture is the worst part, just when we started to recover from the last year's flood...
Yet it feels so far away now, yesterday when I was out in the town it felt like it was winter time.

The pacific northwest US had its hottest summer on record. Nearly two weeks worth of temps greater than 90F, which for that region, used to be unheard of. When we signed our lease for our house in Anchorage, the temps were in the 80s, which is insanely hot for this city! Thankfully, those super high temps only lasted about two weeks. Now we are in our fall weather patterns here, which makes me EXCEEDINGLY happy as Fall weather patterns in the pacific northwest region of the lower 48 never fully take hold until about mid October.

I love living at 61N heh heh heh

However, of interest, it has been said that climate change in Alaska has been greater than anyplace else on Earth:eek2:
