Is it worth doing the raw data transfer from 23andme to FTDNA?

Do they tell you anything different than what 23andme does?

Only if it is free, otherwise it's a huge waste.

Their analysis is absolute shit: http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?180380-FTDNA-results-for-my-grandfather-cousin-and-sister-are-they-serious-!

They want $39 for the full transfer. I can't afford that right now. The exchange rate is brutal and getting worse. :(

It's always a matter of the answers you are looking for. Ancestry, lineage, traits, health,..for sure FTDNA isn't going to tell her more about her ancestry after testing at 23. Their full ydna sequence are great, i ll probably get one at some point.

Unless you want to test mtDNA for genealogical purposes (like order full mtDNA sequence), the transfer itself isn't a big deal.

If you're into genealogy, then it's worthwhile to put up with FTDNA. You can view common matches and view segments you match on. People on their are more likely to respond to emails/messages than any of the other sites since it tends to be people more into genealogy.
