She’s extremely concerned about the ‘deafening cacophony of xenophobic voices’ talking about migrants.

Europe is facing arguably the largest migrant crisis since WWII, with desperate people fleeing their home countries and seek a better life.

Immigrants are risking their lives to leave war-torn countries such as Syria, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan, journeying to safer European countries.

But they aren’t being welcomed with open arms or receiving the offer of a helping hand.

Green Party MP Molly Scott Cato thinks the way migrants are currently being treated feels like a frightening parallel to the anti-Semitism which circulated in the 1930s and continued throughout WWII.

She writes: ‘In the 1930s thousands of persecuted people fled Europe. With the benefit of historical hindsight we now know what fate awaited many of those Jews who were turned away from sanctuary.

‘Quite rightly, we now express horror about the Holocaust, an iconic example of the most shocking event of human history, and pledge ourselves to stop anything like it happening again.’
