Eugen Arbo's mongoloid types:

same man as the one in the first pictures used as a Teutonic example by Ripley:

Truth be told there is nothing mongoloid about either and I don't know why he classified them as such, he also claimed that parts of Eastern Norway especially the areas around Hedmark had pockets of pure mongoloid racial types.
This Hallingdøl was also mongoloid by Eugen's standards:

I don't see anything mongoloid in both pictures as well... Very strange classification.

How would you classify Carl Oscar Eugen Arbo himself?

To my untrained eye, he would be Cromagnid, eventually Baltid with Nordid influences and possibly some other influx. From which region of Norway he comes?
Also, I don't know about his cephalic index. If he would be brachycephal, I'd have to revise my classification (assume, f.e. Borreby element).
I might be wrong in my classification attempt since I'm still learning. Agrippa and others would probably answer you better. :wink

He was from Skoger in Drammen, Buskerud.

You might be right. Of course I mean Baltid. :D
He has somewhat shorter forehead than most of types common in Norway, I don't really know, how to classify him.

How would you define typical Norwegian look? Fair, somewhat robust Cromagnid/Nordid intermediate?

There are many typical Norwegian looks and I don't think there is a standard definition, the answer will be different depending on who you ask and what part of the country they live in.
In my area people like this Norwegian fotball player are quite typical:

These are the most common phenotypes in my area though:

To me those variants are not really significantly Mongoloid influenced, and you know that I see such influences in the North and North East in specific variants - those are mostly Cromagnoid variants, probably with a certain amount of Eastbaltid-Lappoid, especially the second (eye region).
However, that's at best an influence, you don't detect an influence and say that's Mongoloid.
He himself seems to be Cromagnoid (between Dalofaelid and Borreby) + Nordid, almost 50:50. Typical generalised Nordeuropid, relatively progressive and higher social type obviously.

Ha! So I was right with my classification!
