Does she look typical Russian?

I noticed a lot of models from Russia and Ukraine are darker (olive skin tone, dark brown hair). How common is her look in Russia?

I wouldnt say its common, but it's not rare either. It depends which part she is from, if she is southern Russian, her look is very common, if she's from a northern part it's uncommon as I said before.

Pontid/CM

By what logic are South Russians different from North Russians?

Pontid and I can see a minor ME vibe.

She doesn't look ethnic Russian –ру́сская– to me and I'm not saying this only because of her pigmentation. She probably belongs to one of those ethnic minorities living in Russian soil (e.g., Volga Tatars) who are indeed Russian by citizenship –россия́не–, but not ethnic Russians by blood/ancestry.

It's like you're asking me what's the difference between Italians and Danish people.
Well obviously southern Russians are darker in pigmentation that those from the north.

I know people from both southern and northern Russia, and there is a significant difference. The northern ones are pred. Baltid in stock and the southern ones pontid who could easily pass in the Balkans.

Russians are much darker than their stereotype from my experience

That's a fallacy, they are all just recent immigrants and not native.

Indigenous to South Russia would be Chechens and we are neither dark nor can we pass in the Balkans.

Not stereotypical for sure but nevertheless such kind of types are quite frequent anywhere in Eastern Europe. Yes many models from Eastern Europe are darker than the average because their "exotic" look is making them "special" from the masses of more stereotypical looking light haired/light eyed Eastern European women.

In real life there is not really such a huge difference between most North and South Russians. But there are certainly differences if you look close enough. Just peripheral groups in the North with massive recent Uralic admixture differ significantly from South Russians. South Russia is just since several hundred years populated by ethnic Russians which came from many different parts of Russia so they will hardly be that different from other Russians.

Her surname is Russian so I doubt she is ethnic Ukrainian either. I have seen Russian women looking like her but who knows with whom her ancestors and that of this "Russian" women mixed with (Jews?)
