According to 23andMe I'm R1b1b2a1a which is now called U106 (S21)
According to genetic maps I've seen this is highly prevalent in England, Southern Norway, the Benelux, West Germany, and Palermo.

However, in France its only 1-5% practically across the board, even in Normandie.

I'm curious, which people carried this Y-Chromosome? Mine supposedly comes from Perpignan, but considering my surname is most common in Normandie, its likely that it originally came from that.

Who brought this Y haplogroup to France? Normans?

Do you know which Germanic tribes this could come from?

Probably frankish invaders but it existed before the germanic invasion imo.

Could be normand too, alsacian, etc

Maybe you're, the nomenclature is changing all the time.

Weird because I'm R1B1b2a1a1 and I'm sure to not be U198 (U106 subclade) because I tested myself with an other program.

Its certainly confusing.

Download your raw data and test it with this program : http://www.y-str.org/2014/07/genetic-genealogy-kit.html . You'll have the answer.
