That's simple: Obama was correct. The US could easily neutralise the Iranian military.

Bear in mind that any American bombing campaign in Iran would not only target military bases but also critical civilian infrastructure. Once completed, the entire state would cease to function effectively and total chaos would ensue. Such plans have been in place for about a decade. The initial bombing campaign might only last a few weeks. The utter chaos that would follow is also part of the plan.

Also bear in mind that it would not be the US acting alone - it would be the US and allies.

We hear the same old arguments relating to "Iran not being the same as Iraq", "American decline" and even mention of Russia and China supposedly being willing to risk WWIII just to save Iran, but they are all either irrelevant or false. Iran cannot beat the most powerful military machine in history.

Whether the US is actually planning to attack Iran, perhaps by twisting the nuclear deal for that purpose, is another question. It would not surprise me at all.

Iran said specifically, They would not be the cause for the war, or the start.

That at the end, it would be USA embarrassed.

Russia already told USA if they put their hands on Syria there would be a Nuclear war.

Russia will back Iran.
