Which specific Germanic countries are in your background?

You do actually kind of have an Irish vibe.

Was anyone adopted in your near family tree?

Well, actually, England is not a Germanic country. Their ancestry is mostly Celtic Britons with some Anglo-Saxon element. You probably get this Celtic vibe from your English ancestors. Besides you are part Welsh.

I think the Germanic influence on England is far more prominent than most non British think.

You have red hair. People will think you have irish ancestry if you have red hair, even if you are full blooded iraqi or something.

In areas, but it appears even central and northeastern English are more pre-Germanic than Germanic genetically. I dunno, when it comes to popular consensus, it always comes across to me that most people think of the English as straight of Jutlanders.

Irish people aren't unique and look very much like other NW Europeans. There are some subtle differences of course, but they can be measured mostly through scientific method (although the average Joe noticed higher rate of red hair for instance).

You should get a dna test (with 23andme preferably) to answer your question.

I can easily see your Celtic influence, sure. I'm not sure about German, though. Maybe some ethnic Germans can answer this? :)

Your skin colour particularly tilts you more towards Celtic, but my initial impression was Norwegian. I like your type of colouring.

Bump it up! He does have that Northwest Euro vibe, in my not so humble opinion, which one might expect to see in the U.K..

Borreby is a Germanic phenotype. Not sure with Nordid. Maybe it's the nordid that gives you a Irish vibe?

Nice family you have there!Your father definitely looks more british to me,a typical englishman I'd say.I don't think he looks scandinavian at all, that does not mean he wouldn't pass there, but if he has some germanic vibe that might be saxon,or east anglian IMO.He definitely looks more irish than scando, but he mostly looks english to me.

You really can't pinpoint the differences between "Celtic" and "Germanic" very easily in that area, as there's a lot of genetic overlap between the British Isles and Benelux/Western Germany and the Northern half of France, just some sort of "tendencies" I'd say (these and those types are slightly more common in Britain, others slightly more on the continent, but not exclusive), and that's because those who settled the British Isles first a couple thousand years ago probably mostly came from the Greater Rhine area, so they turn out slightly more South Dutch/West German-like while Anglo-Saxons are slightly more North Dutch/North German like, but the difference between all these isn't that big to begin with. Of course there has been some slight evolution/natural selection in the last couple thousand years causing a slight drift (at least that's my explanation of the high amount of redheads in Scotland and Ireland)

Anyway yeah, I wouldn't put you into Eastern or South-Eastern Germany, that's all I can say. I guess you'll have to do some sort of 23andme or FTDNA to get a little more clarity, but even then you won't know exactly how much % German, Benelux, English, Irish... you are thanks to the significant overlap of these groups
