Dawkins is definitely an intelligent guy, who is not afraid to talk about his beliefs - or rather, lack of them. What I respect him for is his contribution in the science, and attitude toward people who do not share his ideology. Unlike many Atheists, who tend to think about themselves as intelectually superior than creationists, Dawkins prefers polite discussion - without spreading hatred and shouting at each other.

But also many Atheists perceive him as some kind of Atheistic Messiah, who had never made any mistake and who is always right. Like his words would be the only source of atheistic arguments. It only proves that being an Atheist doesn't equals being a genius.
