Scaled to 100.

Largest African component is Senegal. When you add up Senegal + Mali and then Cameroon/Congo + SE Bantu, you see most of their African ancestry is from Senegambia and the Angola area, and not as much in between, with exception for Ghana.

Puerto Ricans' African ancestry is also significantly Senegambian:

I don't think I've ever seen a White person be some hard over Afro Latino origins as you are lol Why?

I find the African diaspora interesting. But seriously, look at the results because we were talking about it the other day. Puerto Ricans do have a lot of Upper Guinean ancestry, and less Central African than we thought.

I concur with Senegal. I have been there personally and they all claim Senegalese descent and Spanish fathers.

Dominicans don't acknowledge their African descent much of the time, but those who do probably know that most of the early slaves to their island were from Senegambia, and a large portion of the later ones were brought indirectly from Cape Verde.

Also there is a surprising amount of Beninese in Dominicans, though that might be due to proximity with Haiti.

Many claim ancestry from Senegalian slaves and Spanish male lineage, so you are correct.

I counted their top matches. This is the number of people on that chart scoring each element first.

Senegal: 10
Mali: 8
Ghana/Ivory Coast: 7
Benin/Togo: 11
Nigeria: 11
Cameroon/Congo: 7
SE Bantu: 6

So most Dominican ancestry is Senegalese/Malian/Gambian (18 people), and Central African ancestry seems concentrated in fewer people.

For Puerto Rico:

Senegal: 24
Mali: 13
Ghana/Ivory Coast: 5
Benin/Togo: 13
Nigeria: 12
Cameroon/Congo: 9
SE Bantu: 7

So Puerto Ricans are even more Upper Guinean than are Dominicans, and even less Central African.

I usually don't delve to much into Sub Saharan African DNA in myself due to it being too low to get any exact matches for origin. Most of the time it just comes up with being mostly West African with always a little bit of East African but that's it.

Based on the above results for Puerto Ricans it is likely Senegambian or Malian in large part. What surprises me is the amount of Beninese in Puerto Ricans and Dominicans, since slave records estimated it to be low. Central African is significant in Dominicans but seems to be quite small in Puerto Rico.

Compared to the other islands Puerto Rico only received two waves of African input. Dominican Republics and Haiti was far more constant and continuous so theirs will be more diverse.

Central African input is higher in places that received most of their slaves later in the slave trade (US, Brazil, Haiti) while places that received most of theirs early on (Puerto Rico, Cape Verde, etc.) will be mostly Senegambian, Malian, etc. The slave trade moved southward and eastward as it progressed.

Many Dominicans also have Canarian Spanish origins too, just like many Puerto Ricans, Cubans and Venezuelans.

That doesn't reflect in their SSA ancestry though, it's part of their European.

i wish there were dominicans, puerto ricans, cubans, central americans ect. who could get some spreadsheets up of their people's ancestrydna results
so we can compare, not talking about the african but the whole complete result, from european to african to asia to west asia

i am more curious to compare the european part, who has more of what and less of the other

Most of us are over the whole "who has more or less" game. It's such a waste of time. It's more interesting to discuss specifics of a population then doing useless comparisons that only lead to trolling.
