View Full Version : Howdy from Arizona
Hello,
My name's Tyler and I joined this forum a few days ago, since it was referred to me by fellow member Vargtand.
I am a second generation American, my mothers parents moved here from Italy. My fathers mother was also an Italian immigrant but his father was of Irish blood.
I have always been very interested in pre-1700 History and European Anthropology as a whole. I'm very pleased to see a community of people who support this, and I'm looking forward to joining in some of the interesting conversations here.

Please make yourself at home and join in at your leisure. There are lots of nice people to meet and chat with and lots to read and discuss. :)

Hello. I see you put your location as the White Mountains. Alpine? It's been years since I've been in that area.

I'm near Alpine, in a town called Show Low. Are you familiar with it?

Yes, very much though I think of it that area as being part of the Rim Country. I think of everything between Payson & Pinetop as Rim Country. I lived in the Mesa-Chandler area for several years. So you're just down the road from the White Mountain Apache Reservation & the Hon Dah Casino.

Sure enough. Yeah it is technically Rim Country, very beautiful. When was the last time you were here? We've had a really big population boom in the past few years, things have changed a lot. Goddamn immigrants and people from California, Phoenix, etc have practically flooded into town. I'd say our population has doubled since 2000..

I think I was there (Showlow) in 2002 though I was in the Payson area last summer. Yeah, the population pressures are overspilling from California into Arizona & from the Valley up into the Rim Country.
