It's good they want to preserve their own culture

This was an inevitable trend. The stage where China just worshiped the west or made knock off cities, products, etc was just a phase. As China grows stronger and richer, it will look for inspiration towards it's own rich heritage and will support it's own culture, brands, etc which are growing in sophistication. The article is pretty accurate in its assessment.
