Wiki: "Sardinian major painter of the nineteenth century, Giovanni Marghinotti was born in Cagliari in 1798. He studied in Rome. Neoclassical-purist taste, he knew add to this a romantic flavor. Various portraits of Carlo Felice in the palace of Cagliari are the example. He also realized the religious theme paintings in various Sardinian churches. He was also appreciated outside the island. He made portraits of princes and kings of Savoy."
