Can Lizzy Capalan pass as Lebanese?

In the famous 2004 movie, "Mean Girls," she plays a character who states that she is of Lebanese descent. I thought that was interesting. She is of Jewish descent, so she is genetically close to Levantines and technically is one, but here she is:

This is what she looked like when she played the character "Janis Ian" in the movie mean girls, whom revealed she was of Lebanese descent during the school dance when a guy comes up to her and dances with her during the romantic song. He asks her "are you Puerto rican?", and she smiles and says "I'm Lebanese," and he says he can feel that.

Most ashkenazis don't have noticeable Levantine influence, but if you look at her in some photos she kind of does look like a light near eastern imo. But she mostly looks European so it's kinds confusing.

Something tells me she chose to say that she was Lebanese in the movie because strangely enough she's a jew and a reformery one at that, meaning she came from a religious household and is most likely aware of her MENA heritage unlike most Jews. I mean if she said "I'm jewish" in the movie, it would have confused people because most people in America think Judaism is simply a religion cause ashkenazis look like white people.

Yeah I agree. The guy who guessed her as Puerto rican was an Indian dude from the math club and he was like into that ethnicity stuff like people on this forum are lol. Actually the main character was a white girl who lived in Africa for 12 years and came back to America, and when she failed a math test in the movie the Indian guy was like "damn africa, what happened?" And I loled.

But yeah, who the hell would guess her as Puerto Rican? Such a terrible guess.

She doesn't even look southern Italian but honestly British or something. The only indication she is not, is her close-spaced eyes, but she could pass easily as 3/4 British, 1/4 Italian.

Genetics don't equal phenotype though, and southern Italians can look Levantine quite occasionally.

She doesn't look British at all to me. I think that she could pass as west asian. I have seen afghan girls who look similar to her. But because of her pigmentation and euro friendly features, she could obviously pass as European.

Leventine looks can be found all throughout southern Europe after all the majority of them are overwhelmingly Mediterranean in genetics and phenotype especially Lebonese people
