Cool, did you get that result right away or was additional SNP tests done? I was predicted positive for E-M35 only, didn't go any deeper. :\

No, he got J2-M172. I predicted he belongs to J2b1-M205 with a 100% confidence. This is why it's critical collaborating with FTDNA admins before proceeding with further SNP testing, which most of the times is not needed, especially if the test is minimum Y37.

How many markers (or any SNPs) did you test and can we see the results? I can at least tell whether you are E-V13 without any SNP testing.

I tested 37 markers too. And the result was E-M35, did not go any deeper. I purchased the $39 test for EV68 and tested positive. And sure, I'll share my markers with you if you think that'll help me find the subclade. I did check out the SNP on 23andme, and it showed me the letter A which I assume is positive for E-V13, the result I got there.

I see. It seems you only tested one SNP which is V68 and upstream of V13.

You should've taken the whole pack (E-V68 SNP Pack) which will test for many SNPs/subclades even below V13, about 50 of them. You can still do however.

You should have asked me for advice before you tested that SNP ;)

Yes, I didn't realize there was a difference when I first ordered the test, but oh well. That's what I get for ordering the test on my phone. I'll order the SNP pack this time, and discover my subclade, whatever it is.

Let's see you matches/results - you did take my advice and tested after all :D

I wanted to take the test long before any of you suggested it to me because I was taking DNA Tribes tests out of curiosity. I got the results about two months ago, but the harrying by Albanians here only made me not want to post about it here.

In any case, I got E-M35, tested positive for E-V68 and will order an EV68 panel test in due time. I only got one match on FTDNA, a German-American with the E-L117 haplogroup, and two Italians carrying E1b1b and e1b1b1 haplogroups on ysearch.

I'm beginning to feel bad for somewhat hijacking Dema's thread, so I'm going to move posts related to my results here.

Okay, it seems like I figured out how ysearch works. I only needed to set the maximum distance allowable to 6 and then downscale to find closer matches. I'll post the number of matches for 10 markers at max genetic distance allowable of 6.

A total of 889 matches:

111 USA matches
62 Germany matches

YSEARCH MEANS NOTHING WITH 37 MARKERS. DOING THE BIG Y AND PUTTING IN YOUR MARKERS SHOW MUCH CLOSER MATCHES. ALL OF MINE ARE GERMANS, NO OTHER COUNTRIES

which of your matches are the closest? the ones on top of the list are the most reliable ones, on ysearch at least.

I was just about to post that. The results are a lot more condensed if I increase the number of matching markers to 20 markers while maintaining the allowable distance of 6.

I dunno. :D I mean I have found interesting Albanian relatives on 23andme but have not found anything similar with YDNA testing.

It is clear that I am ancient Pelasgian E-V13 who arrived in Italy with Pyrrhus. When that didn't work out and Pyrrhus' arse kicked back to old Albania, my paternal ancestors must have joined the master race and enlisted in the Roman legions. How pyrrhic. After a while, it probably was becoming clear that the Romans just sucked at fighting and governing, and the Slavs were superior. The Slovenes especially. My grandfather from some years ago likely met a Slavicized Celtic warrior-princess and fucked her admirably. He probably has proven himself fruitful and produced a large family. One of his sons apparently became fascinated with the fables told by her beautiful mother and gained the desire to travel to magical Great Celtica. We can tell he settled down in Scotland. After a while, he likely followed the example of his father nicknamed many-sons, the ever-conquering of booty, both flesh and material, and did a bit of a sowing of the seeds and sowed he did, as far as ruddy Ireland. In time, the seeds became even further sown, across a whole ocean, to the gloriously glorious New World. 'Tis the family history of Aemilius the Aprician.

Joking aside, the top match is a Pole, and her most distant ancestor is Pawel Wendt born in 1739 from a village called Wedkowy. The second match is 100% a Slovene with the surname Jakopič, but the listed lineage only goes back as 1962, so there's probably something there.
