By this, do you mean they look like the lighter types in Southern Italy as opposed to the darker types?

Why would that be? Quebecois are not necessarily representative of all Frenchmen as they are mostly composed of Bretons and Normands if I am not mistaken.

Also many intermarried with anglo-canadians not to mention natives and later italian immigrants.

If you want to see real French men and women go to France. Especially in the countrysides if you want to meet ethnic ones.

ok, - if you want know how real Bretons and Normands looked in the past, you have to look and post Quebecois people.
Now this region has changed.

Quebec is full of immigrants as well though, especially Montreal and Quebec City. Anyway, look who I posted in this thread: http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?188632-Post-examples-of-French-people-who-look-distinctly-French

NymphådoraBlüeBird : that's so weird and funny hahaha, I'm quite sure we met here, I'll ask you by PM :)

You guys went to the same school? That's awesome!

Yes lol, we probably met each other everyday for 1 or 2 years :) This is such a little high school actually. I'll ask her to know, maybe ! World seems so little, we find people we were close to on international forum lol

Enflamme : actually I chose a lot of little universities because you find more "local" and native people there. But you should know universities are made in order students from everywhere in France come to, and Erasmus programs are made to exchange with foreigners students wanting to study a year or two in France. I chose the most local I've found but that's quite sure you have mixed people in some pictures.

Well France is also DOM TOM islands and students from there come to study here if they want. That's probably why you find black people in this picture too.

Enflamme you'll be afraid if I chose pictures of Students in Marseille (south east), because you find a lot of descendants of "Pieds-noirs" here. Algerian jews descendants, Tunisan, etc, mixed with meds and alpined.

In Normandy because our history and roots (we're descendants from danish and norvegian vikings) they developed at university the Nordic pole to study culture and languages from Northern country. That's a partenership with Norway, Sweden, Finland, Danmark and Iceland. So you find now here several groups of Nordic students, very nice exchange :) Friends of mine made this program too and go in Finland study back.

Sure, the "darkest" people on the pictures are students in Lyon, south East. (source : http://www.i-lyon9.com/assos-165-offset-24.html)

Vandaal : this is actually contemporary french students. From differents parts of France.

Peids-noirs are mostly European ... And no, you do not get off the Vikings, Normans, must come down a bit... :dielaughing:

Marseillais are pure Mediterranean and Europeans, not mixed with blacks, Arabs and other non-European.

"they developed at university the Nordic pole to study culture and languages from Northern country" : I'm against. Nordic language has no place here; besides, nordic language is very ugly.

I do not agree with you at all lol.

Nordic language has no place in Normandy ? Norman language comes from old norse language. You find here more roots from nordic language than you think. I'm sure you don't even know what Norman language is lol.

Pieds-noirs, europeans ? "Pieds-Noirs, is a term referring to Christian and Jewish people whose families had migrated from all parts of the Mediterranean to French Algeria, the French protectorate in Morocco, or the French protectorate of Tunisia, where many had lived for several generations, and who were expelled at the end of French rule in North Africa between 1956 and 1962. The term usually includes the North African Jews, who had been living there for many centuries but were awarded French citizenship by the 1870 Crémieux Decree. " Most of them are mixed with Algerian people. Sepharad jews called "pieds-noirs" are really dark skined.

Contemporary Marseillais are pure meds and europeans ? lol, before these last 30 years maybe but look at the people in Marseille now. Walk in the northern Marseille and tell me they're mostly euro and meds lol. They're mixed with algerian, tunisan, morocco, meds. Go in the country around Marseille and you'll find true meds, alpined etc but in Marseille, not so much anymore. The students of Marseille now :

It's Enflamme.
He hates everything that relates to the Nordic aspects that you can find in France, and he hates the fact that France is a Western European country.
He often looks in his post to exaggerate the type med in France because it greatly appreciates southern europe.
It's Enflamme, we made it with time: D
