If you had to decide on ONE single country, for whatever reasons, you feel the closest connection to overall, which country would it be?

Perhaps state some reasons as to why as well.

USA for me

USA for me
Yep, I would chose Canada or United States if I could. They are capitalist, democratic, english speaking, multicultural this is exactly what attracted me most. It seems I have a mindset closer to american one. Sometimes I can even feel myself american while being a foreigner in the country where my people belong.

England.
I am very interested in this country, its culture, its art, its past, landscapes and architecture.
Openness and a taste for travel, exploration and navigation.
Nice people, full of charms.
I love English movies, English shows, and of course, the rich literature.

Scotland

Uncanny and synchronistic.

We share the same patron saint, the same colours on our flags and there are many places in Scotland named after places in Greece. e.g. the island of Iona. There is even an housing estate in Glenrothes called Macedonia. Edinburgh is sometimes called the 'Athens of the North'. One of the Scotttish dialects - Doric is named after a Greek dialect.

As Venezuelan: Colombia, followed by Brazil and Puerto Rico.

As a persona:

Spain, for being the country of my mom, and for being the country where most of my ethnic background comes from.

Then, Argentina and Uruguay, for being countries where most of their people are a mixture of Spanish/Italian in diverse proportions, just like myself. Then, lots of Argentinians and Uruguayans are near whites, who also have some minor Amerindian admix... again, just like myself.

Phenotype-wise, I fit with ease among white north Americans, being most of them of north/central Euro descent, and being me of mostly southern Euro stock. So, imagine with Argentinean/Uruguayans, with whom I share much more, culturally speaking, and on top of that, they are mostly southern Euro (Italian/Spanish), just like me.

I know that I would perfectly fit in those two countries like a glove in a hand.

México, if I'd to chose a different place.

Also American South Cone (Argentina, Uruguay, South Brasil, Chile...)

I don't know if I fit in any hispano american country like a glove in a hand. There are a lot of americans that seem to deteste "gallegos". But, anyway, I like them.

No, I am not. It was a joke actually. But it have some sense.

I lived in Russia all my life, but I am not into russians honestly. I do not agree with them in many aspects and sometimes I do not want to have business with them. I would not chose to live in that country the second time.

Also I can not return to the country of my origin as you did. Being raised in Russia, I can not even speak with that people openly, because I do not understand them and their traditions. Maybe you experience the same problem here in Philippines. Being raised in America can you understand your people, that live on the other side of the world? I personally can not even associate myself with them. I understand that I can not live among them a long time and I do not want to deal with their problems.

But I know very well what happen in North America. I think that each person was exposed to this culture in his childhood through media, entertainment and the internet. I think that I can integrate in that society very easily. In my opinion it is a democratic country where individual and his opinion is respected.

Also I am aware of that I can not live in any other country except the former British colonies because I can not speak another language.
So my choice would be a North America and Australia.

Firstly, of course, to my homeland (Bulgaria) due to very obvious cultural and historical reasons. Also, this is the land of my family, friends, etc.
After Bulgaria I can say that I feel in a way related to Britain (England specifically) - I started speaking English before even starting school (I was 6 or something). I've been studying English since first grade (kept doing this in university, too). Britain's culture and history have always been an object of interest to me also (I've got some encyclopedias on this matter). Took a course in English history and culture in university, too.
I like the way Brits defend their interests and these of their people (unlike German politicians).
British people (English and Welsh) I know and communicate with here, in Bulgaria, are also straightforward, openly patriotic (but also critical to things they don't like about their states), easy going and don't care if one likes them (which I find cool because I am also like that) - they are more likely to tell you the truth about things they both like and dislike about living in your country and I respect them for this. They also accept criticism towards their states. They try to (and do it) learn the local language (Bulgarian, in the case) - they really want to be corrected when making pronunciation mistakes, etc. In this regard, they are completely different from Greeks, for instance. Brits usually learn (relatively good) Bulgarian for 1-2 years. Most Greeks here don't even try to - they can be married here for 10 years and still knowing only few Bulgarian words.
I also like English sense of irony and black humor.
Another plus of British people is the way they manage with alcohol. They are maybe the only Northwestern Europeans I have seen who can drink different stuff with you all night long and still act and speak in a completely meaningful manner. On the other hand, most Germans and Danes (with some rare exceptions) get drunk after the second beer.

I was driving through the forests for 2 1/2 hours with my Grandma to visit her home town (a small town in northern Germany), and I got a feeling that I belonged there. I also visited a number of other of my ancestral countries but I never got the same feeling. Its hard to explain.
Australia will always be my home though.
