I wonder if anyone has any advice about my haplogroup results. I was given H1 by 23andme, but when I uploaded myself to james lick it gave me H67 as my best match. H67 would make sense as my mother's line is Scottish, but I am confused by the result as I thought it would give me either H1 again or a subclade of H1?

Hi. My mother's ancestry is Scottish and Irish with one line that traces back to Northern England(English or Scots living in England? I can't tell)
I am H67. With ancestral origins at FTDNA at the coding region level I get:
GD 2
Ireland 2
Scotland 1
United Kingdom 1
United States 1
GD 3
Ireland 1
According to the mtDNA matches page I have 9 matches at the coding region level. 8 at a GD of 2 and 1 at a GD of 3.

I'm glad to be H67 if that's what I am, but I am confused about whether or not that is the case. I might get tested with FTDNA, would you say they are better than 23andme or James Lick? I'm just not sure how to interpret the results I've been given.

I think for haplogroup designations FTDNA is the best. However a lot don't rate My origins which is part of Family finder.
