I was wondering what afghan jews are like genetically? Are they genetically related to other afghans populations or close to semites? They certainly look more like semites. In fact, they look pretty ashkenazi or sefardic to me

The last remaining afghan jew has a last name ending in "ov," which sounds slavic.

It is interesting how this guy in generally non-Jewish (small, probably concave nose, very massive jaw, short upper face, narrow eyes) but I see clearly Jewishness in him, as probably most forumers.
Is it only curly black hair? But he could be Greek, Levantine, North African also.

With the exception of Yemeni and Ethiopian Jews, Jewish people are a middle eastern race or ethnic group, and they are completely different from European peoples, both racially and genetically. Yes, Jews do have a certain look with minority of them looking like Europeans.

There could be more genetic diversity between two tribes of Pygmy than between you and a guy from New Dehli, India. There is even more genetic distance between the Chinese and Vietnamese than between you and a North Indian dude. Caucasoids have diverse skin pigments, they're not the most facially featured or hair textured diverse at all. Africans and east asian have diverse phenotypes too, you just don't notice.

I had no idea about that. He was just listed as an afghan jew somewhere. The second one however is a full afghan jew and looks more ashkenazi than the half ashkenazi one does.
