Post your 'GPS Origins' results, if you've done this test that is- www.gpsorigins.net - $59 to upload your raw data from 23andme, FTDNA, etc... Accuracy of results is questionable, but still fun to try out if you're a gambler :1127:

This test is not really 100% accurate. I trust 23andme more. 23andme says I'm Southeast Asian + 1/8 Southern Chinese + some Spanish & Indian. On gedmatch it's more or less similar but with higher % of South Asian and Oceanian...I'm actually more mixed than full-blooded SE-Asian, just with distantly related peoples outside SE-Asia.

I see, I counted your chinese as part of southeast asian, I thought because its asian, also your central american I counted as southeast asian and your west-siberian, I thought thats all part of being asian, only the indian stood out to me.

Also 3.1% Bougainville, which is Papuan :) My minor Iberian percentage I usually get on other tests out there did not show up on this particular test for some reason.

What do you think you'll end up scoring on this test? Any predictions?

Did you filled out the questionnairies? There are 3 one for yourself and two for mother and father. The interesting thing was to fill out the ethnicity.

They had only

African American
Hispanic
Jewish
Cohen
Levite
Samaritan
Assyrian
Aboriginal

no white or asian or native american etc. that was a bit weird, that leads me to believe they are a site like black hebrew israelites or some special site

I didn't even bother with that. Didn't really care about filling it out lol. Even forgot they had that questionnaire.

Migration Story A
Ancient ancestry in Pakistan

Your ancestors came from Pakistan prior to 1137 AD, so let's take a look at what was going on in Pakistan up to this point:

The Gupta Empire
Between 320 AD and 600 AD, Pakistan was ruled by local leaders in a period known as Pakistan under the Gupta Empire. At this point, Pakistan came under the control of the Indian based Gupta Empire. Trade ties made the region an important cultural center and for a time it was very prosperous. However, it declined due to a loss of territory and as a result of the invasion by the Hunas from Central Asia. People migrated from India and Bangladesh and Nepal to Pakistan due to the incoming Gupta Empire.

The Arrival of Islam
Between 601 AD and 996 AD, Pakistan was ruled by local leaders in a period known as the Arab Empire. At this time, Rajput dynasties ruled areas of Pakistan until the arrival of Arab forces in 712. However, the region was not stable and Hindu rulers like the south Indian Emperor Vikramaditya II defeated the Umayyad Arabs. There was gradual conversion to Islam in the south, but the north remained largely Hindu under the Hindu Shahi. People migrated from Saudi Arabia and India and Afghanistan to Pakistan as a result of attempted Arab conversions and settlement and the incoming Hindu Shahi. At the same time, populations moved from Pakistan to places like Saudi Arabia as fighters successfully repelled the Arab invasions.

Hindu Shahi
Between 997 AD and 1187 AD, Pakistan was ruled by local leaders in a period known as Pakistan under the Ghaznavid Empire. During this time, the Ghaznavid dynasty expanded from Afghanistan into Pakistan. They conquered areas into Kurdistan and ruled for 157 years. They declined when Hindu Rajput kingdoms reconquered the eastern Punjab. The dynasty ended when Muhammad Ghori conquered the Ghaznavid kingdom in 1187. People migrated from Afghanistan and Turkey to Pakistan as a result of the expansion of the Ghaznavid dynasty.

Migration Story B
Ancient ancestry in Spain

Your ancestors came from Spain prior to 2389 BC, so let's take a look at what was going on in Spain shortly after this time:

The Defeat of the Celtiberians
Between 181 BC and 19 BC, Spain was ruled by local leaders in a period known as the Roman Conquest. From 181 BC the Celtiberian tribes inhabiting the majority of modern-day Spain, tried to stop the advancing Roman legions in a series of conflicts known as the Celtiberian Wars. However, they were unsuccessful and the Roman conquest of the country was completed in 19 BC. People migrated from Italy to Spain with the Roman invasion of Spain

I don't think it's particularly useful for people with recent mixed ancestry.

Migration story A:

Ancient ancestry in Russia

Your ancestors came from Russia prior to 506 AD, so let's take a look at what was going on in Russia up to this point:

Movement from Russia to Ukraine

At some point before 506 AD your ancestors moved to Ukraine. These are the events your ancestors would have lived through in Ukraine.

Movement from Ukraine to Moldova

At some point after 506 AD your ancestors moved to Moldova and once they reached there this is what they would have experienced:

Migration story B:

Ancient ancestry in Belarus

Your ancestors came from around Belarus prior to 556 AD, so let's take a look at what was going on in Belarus up to this point:

Movement from Belarus to Lithuania

At some point before 556 AD your ancestors moved to Lithuania. These are the events your ancestors would have lived through in Lithuania.

Movement from Lithuania to Sweden

At some point after 556 AD your ancestors moved to Sweden and once they reached there this is what they would have experienced:

I am not sure which would be the maternal or paternal migration routes. Given my known ancestry being 100% British, rather strange results

Migration route A: Ancient ancestry in Morocco

Your ancestors came from Morocco prior to 593 AD

Movement from Morocco to Italy

At some point before 593 AD your ancestors moved to Italy

Movement from Italy to Kosovo

At some point after 593 AD your ancestors moved to Kosovo

Migration route B

Ancient ancestry in Finland

Your ancestors came from Finland prior to 855 AD

Movement from Finland to Russia

At some point before 855 AD your ancestors moved to around Russia

This one is odd as the arrows actually point in the opposite direction to Greenland.

Migration A: Ancient ancestry in India
Your ancestors came from India prior to 557 AD

Migration B: Ancient ancestry in Libya
Your ancestors came from Libya prior to 1384 AD

Movement from Libya to Turkey
At some point before 1384 AD your ancestors moved to around Turkey

Movement from Turkey to Israel and Palestine
At some point after 1384 AD your ancestors moved to Israel and Palestine

I think these migration routes are the equivalent of someone picking at random out of a hat.
