he is from my Father's region, Thessaly, my mother is from Ionian islands.

Eastern or Balkan looking is most common in epirus and some parts of macedonia

this comment was not mine,so i don't know if he looks "western" but visiting Bulgaria almost twice every year i can ensure you that no average Bulgarian would look like him, the way the vast majority in his region do not look.

seriouly, I don't see anyone approaching. The majority of the people in the photo are (like most of Bulgarians I have seen) more round headed and brachycephalic

About Bulgarian cephalic index you are right. As for Greeks - I've seen both very brachy and very dolicho ones.
