He is actually half Portuguese ( mother). His name is a reference to his mother, Paco de Lucia (Lucias' s Paco) Lucia was his mother's given name. Not that much into Flamengo (in Portugal we rarely listen to it) but this one is a good one imo.

I'm not an expert on Flamenco but i see a clear distinction between the guitarrists like Paco de Lucia or Vicente Amigo and the flamenco which has a singing part, usually by gypsies. The singing part i don't like, but the guitar part is very good.
