Support for the right-wing True Finns Party has risen to a new high, according to a survey published on Friday.

According to the Taloustutkimus survey published by YLE, 12.5 percent of respondents said they back the True Finns. That is a rise of 1.8 percentage points since August.

Meanwhile the three big parties -- the National Coalition, the Centre and the opposition Social Democrats -- have all lost ground, but less than one percentage point each.

Support for the Greens edged up to around 10 percent. Last summer the opposition True Finns surpassed the Greens -- a member of the four-party government coalition -- as the country's fourth most popular party.

The Left Alliance made its poorest showing ever at 7.2 percent. The Christian Democrats overtook the Swedish People's Party as the nation's seventh-biggest party.

The margin of error is 1.4 percent.

The next general election is in March 2011.

If this support i realized in the elections in spring, the True Finns will quadruple their number of seats in parliament!

Many True Finns have called themselves a "Nationalist Worker's Party". ;)

However, the party is still rather diverse, as is inevitable with young and rapidly expanding discontent-parties. The most nationalist-orientated faction within the party is no doubt the youth organization.

Another recent poll indicates that workers like their "nationalist socialism":

Poll: True Finns Triple Support among Working Class

Support for the right-wing populist True Finns party has tripled among the working class since the previous Parlaiamentary elections.

According to a poll commissioned by the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, the True Finns have the support of 16 percent of working class voters, making it the third most popular in the demographic. The most popular party among manual workers is the Social Democratic Party, with 25 percent support, followed by the Centre Party, which gets 18 per cent.

The True Finns are believed to have made gains at the expense of the Centre Party, the Left Alliance and the SDP.

The poll involved interviews with 11,000 Finns aged 18 to 29. The interviews were conducted between April and September this year.

There appears to be the beginnings of an awakening in parts of Europe with regards to the "transformation" of our respective national demographics which is being ramrodded through by the Leftists and EUrocrats.

I just wonder how many people will find the time to tear themselves away from their precious Reality TV shows or the latest Paris Hilton exclusives to pay attention to these existential threats which are facing us.

Furthermore, it's not only the symptoms of the disease which needs to be tackled (symptoms = 3d world mass immigration) but also the CAUSES (causes are 5th Columnists and Liberals within our midsts) who are conveniently being ignored by the vast majority of the general public.

Without Leftwing control of the Media, Social Sphere, Academia, Politics and sectors of the economy the foreign onslaught being directed against us would never have been possible.

The greatist threat is the one within our own midst.

That is news to me, thanks for posting it. :)

The largest share of those polled however seem to be "sleeping" or "mobile" voters, though. 33,3% of those who know who they would vote for, would for the True Finns. Of course, only those who vote count, but still.

Actually, Truefinns are not that right wing at all but more a common sense and workers party.

Nationalsocialism doesn't work in Finland, common sense does.

In the European spectrum, being critical of lax immigration policies automatically makes you far-right, regardless of the rest of your political platform. Wilders is far right, SD are far-right, NPD are far-right... :coffee:

SD is far right, make no mistake about it. It was founded by neo-nazis and skinheads, so it has an entirely different plattform from Truefinns.
Truefinns is a creation by veteranpoliticians who saw the probblems in Sweden and many other immigrantdense countries clearer than what most other politicians did.
To protest against the immigrationpolicy of Sweden by voting on SD is ok, but in the long run their political and economical skills are playground level.

A vote on SD now and the next election is right to stir up serious political discussion, but if there's a substansial change in the immigrationpolicy the votes can go to other parties i.m.o.

Their history is very different, but I don't consider them far-right since they cleaned house and split into two, the national democrats and the Sweden democrats. Their policies are not far-right, and neither is their ideology. I think it would be a mistake to see the Sweden democrats of today as a successor to the skinhead movement of the 90's.

Well I don't think the situation is really that much better for the True Finns to be honest, they are yet to become a "proper" party in my opinion. But they have the potential to become a truly nationalist orientated national conservative party, if their youth wing is anything to go by (which is largely dominated by members of the "nazi-minded" Suomen Sisu).

The other parties might, even in Sweden, adopt some kind of pseudo-critical approach to immigration and multiculturalism, probably mainly in the form of populist yet hollow slogans that will fool the electorate, as other mainstream parties have across Europe.

Heady Rise in Popularity for True Finns
published today 06:40 PM, updated today 08:58 PM

The nationalisitic True Finns party continues to enjoy a heady increase in popularity among the electorate. The results of a fresh poll released Friday and commissioned by YLE, show that more than 14.3 percent of voters back the True Finns, a rise of nearly two percentage points in one month.
The increase in support for the party chaired by European Parliamentarian Timo Soini signalled declining approval ratings for the other major political parties.

The governing Centre Party, led by Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi reflected this reversal, mustering the support of just 17.6 percent of poll respondents, down from 19 percent last month.

The erosion of support for the Centre means that the approval rating is now at its lowest level in recent memory. The figures make for a bitter pill for the governing coalition member, which hoped to regain lost ground with the departure of former premier Matti Vanhanen, and the annointing of Mari Kiviniemi as the new party leader and head of government.

The Centre is not the only party suffering from voter dissafection; support for the Social Democrats also plunged to a record low, leaving the party reeling with 19.1 percent of voters saying they'd vote Social Democrat compared to 19.8 percent last month.

The National Coalition Party remains the leader in the poll with a support level of 21.7 percent, although gains by the True Finns have also made inroads into their popularity, recorded at 21.9 in September.

Approval for the True Finns has far surpassed support for the Green League and the Swedish People's Party, the other partners in government.

The poll did not reveal any appreciable change in support for the smaller parties, including the Christian Democratic Party, which enjoyed a surge in support following controversial statements by party chair Päivi Räsänen, which were perceived as homophobic.

The survey interviewed nearly 3,900 respondents and was conducted by research firm Taloustutkimus. The margin of error in the results posted for the largest parties was plus or minus 1.4 percentage points.
