Well when I eat out (not at home its mostly in this chinese restaurant, more often then at McDonalds or Pizza, which is rare.) I eat at least once a month chinese. McDonalds maybe twice half a year, and pizza twice in a year. Otherwise I eat at home what my mum cooks.

All you can eat for 7.90€

Well, I usually eat authentic Chinese food. And it is very regionally specific.

This is a popular Hot Pot restaurant I go to sometimes. Not my pics.

Yes, Cantonese is Southern and it is Han. But there are very large regional differences between Han Chinese, it is just an umbrella term really.

Another cuisine is Sichuanese. This is a place I go to sometimes. I can't eat like this every time though, the spices are crazy.

Yeah, that's hot and sour soup. I like it too.

Other styles I like are Cantonese BBQ. It's pretty heavy so I don't eat it much nowadays.

Ironically I found the Chinese food in America to taste slightly better than the ones in Philippines based on what I've tried so far, don't really know why; even though Philippines is geographically closer to China than America is lol. I won't make any final conclusions just yet since I haven't tried any Chinese restos in Manila-Chinatown yet. There are a few new Chinese take-out/fast-food restos that have opened in my current area within the past few months which I believe are run by actual Chinese people who've just set up shop, and it's only a few blocks walk away from my place; it should be interesting to try out, since also there's been an influx of Chinese and Koreans who've recently moved into my current neighborhood...But I wonder if this is considered real Chinese food:

As much as Taco Bell is real Mexican food. Or McDonalds is real American food. Resembles it, but a very cheap, fast food version of it.

You'll have some great food in Hong Kong.

In HK, there is a sub-cuisine that is popular, which is Hong Kongese Western food. Has a lot of baked dishes. You should check it out.

This is baked pork chop spaghetti

Havent been there in a while. But most shopping areas will have more than your fair share of restaurants to choose from. It's a foodie's paradise.

I noticed also the plastic cup in his photos. We rarely use plastic cups in Austria, seems more american thing and like starbucks or mcdonalds etc.

In our chinese restaurants, we have lots of buddha statues and chinese interiors and they play chinese music, of course its not the "real deal" but they try to create a chinese atmosphere.

Panda Express is from America ;) ..'tis why it looks American. Probably the most popular Chinese fast food place in the whole of America. I actually really like it even though it's more Americanized Chinese food than authentic; it actually comes fairly close in taste to the real ones found in various places in US.

Are the cooks actual Chinese people?

I noticed that in many US Chinese buffets most if not all of their cooks/chefs are of Mexican descent lol. But then you have these take-out/sit-down Chinese restos which are mostly run and operated by actual Chinese people.

I used to go to a place right by my house called Lucky China. I loved it but my girlfriend got food poisoned there so she refused to eat chinese for many years after that.

This is another place where they speak english better but the food is just as good, and everyone is super nice.

I still don't go there all that often even though the lunch special is huge and only 5.99 or something like that.

Fried rice is one of my very favorite dishes, but I never seem to get any very often. For entree I get simple stuff like mongolian beef or sweet and sour pork.

Maybe I will go tomorrow for lunch though now that you have reminded me.

They also have some high end places here I have gone to occasionally like something moon and lily langtry's. Those are really good but if I go to an expensive place I'd rather go to something like Olives, Hugo's Cellar, Fleming's Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill or on and on.

If anything, I think you are allowed to take anything home because you are a loyal guest there. I love going to feast established restaurants such as Zhaoyun posted. They are wonderful for special occasions. These places usually have policies when dining in. The policies are based on business and cost of inventory. Desserts usually cost more and though they allowed you to take home, it adds, they probably found that they are losing money this way. But they know you so they want you to return so they will allow you to order and take food, made for dining, home. I bet they tell customers they don't know that they cannot order such menu item to take home and if they want it they must dine in the restaurant.

I dont know how that place you went to usually is but any Buffet/All you can eat that I have been to the rule is you have to eat it there and cant take it home.
The idea is that people will eat untill they get full then they will leave.
If they allow people to take food home then of course they can take for a few days supply. Where I live the All you can eat Buffet is you pay then you can go around and eat as much as you can untill your full but you can't take anything away with you. Maybe your buffet had a different rule or they were making some exceptions if you took a limited amount of food as takeaway instead of you eating there.

¿Por qué los chinos-japoneses han influído tanto en la gastronomía peruana? Muchos platos peruanos no se conciben sin arroz. ¿O es una cosa de Lima solo?
