Recently Groenland made another step on the road to became a full independant country. The new government create a ministry in charge of the "independance".

If they acheive their goal, they will become one of the biggest country on earth with one of the smallest population.

I doubt if Greenland may be a successful independent country.

I doubt it too.
But it seems Groenland has some ressources like aluminium. It might be enought to support and develop the economy of a very small population.

Maybe. What's Denmark's stance on it?

I'am pretty sure most of the danish population don't care or support the independance as danish state give money every year to support the economy.

Tax haven and try to become an attractive immigration destination ?

Why do they want independence?

In 2008 Greenland's citizens approved the Greenlandic self-government referendum with a 75% vote in favor of independence.[16] Greenland took control of law enforcement, the coast guard, and the legal system. The official language changed from Danish to Greenlandic on 21 June of 2009, Greenland national day.[17]

Tax heaven is a possibility but I don't know who will live in Greenland where it's 5°C in summer.

I think if there was an incentive, you will find people that would live there.
