Why Are Most Of The Top Chefs Around The World Male?

Something I've noticed is that when top chefs are shown in the UK, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, India, China, etc, they're mostly men!

And this isn't some new phenomenon as top male chefs in restaurants and on large ships have been around for centuries.

I've also noticed that most of the top celebrity chefs are men too.

I'm just wondering and curious to know why this profession is dominated by males in restaurants. :icon_ask:

Thanks, it's impressive that she can achieve this especially when she is blind. I'm aware there's a few female top chefs, but I'm just wondering the majority of top chefs are male.

Most chefs run their kitchen like a little hitler, which is necessary because the staff is a bunch of uneducated retards who have to be very closely supervised at all times if you want to achieve a good result. It is probably harder for women to be so forceful.

Seriously though, I think generally there are more men who can cope with that high pressure lifestyle.

Honestly, working as a chef is pretty awful: the hours are long and unsociable, the stress levels high, and the pay often shit for all but a few.

I noticed that this top celebrated chef in England called Gordon Ramsay has a very scary temper on him.

He upset American chefs but this is just the way he works in order to achieve a high quality of cooking.

A Frenchman was angry with him too, but Gordon likes things to be perfect.

An Australian female was angry after he called her a name and she launched a speech against him on her news show and she tried to suggest that Gordon treats his wife badly.

That allegation she made about his wife infuriated Gordon because he said she was making untrue allegations about him, and he said that she had attacked his wife and upset her too.

The Australian female Prime Minister wanted Gordon to apologise as Australian womens groups complained about him and wanted him to be removed from the country.

Gordon and his wife (who is an English writer of books about cooking) look like a happy and loving couple though and have four children, (she suffered from a miscarriage and they lost their fifth child sadly.)

Some female chefs cried under the pressure of working very long hours in northern England, and one exhausted female went insane and lost her composure and mind after a lack of sleep. I can see now why females find it difficult to cope with the pressure and stamina required in the industry.

I suspect a little of that is for tv ratings, but there is definitely an element of truth. Everyone has to do their job just so or else the experience is ruined.
