I had bought his book on the crusades when it came out in the American bookstore. And the book was not hidden somewhere but was on a table with new titles in a way everyone could see it.

Very often books that lack relativist assertions are hidden from the public. We don't like to generate outrage nearly as much as we think we do. We like absurd "outrage" like when Brittany Spears is wearing no panties. But not about important matters such as when a Koran is going to be burned. Borders has a bad reputation of not carrying certain books. It's their choice, of course.
