He means anything from Italy TO the Middle East, i.e. everything between. Obviously they do not pass in Iberia though.

I read a study about Armenian population genetics in regards to Europeans, or better said neolithic farmers. It basically claimed that Armenians descent from the same group of neolithic farmers that went to Europe and that they are unique in their kind in the Near East and the only population relatively close to Southern Europeans.

I have lived in Germany for 7 years. I used to speak perfect German. I started going to school while I lived in Germany as a child. I had no difficulty assimilating. I can't help what I look like, but otherwise, I tried my best to integrate as much as I could. Most Armenians have a lot of respect for European people, so even when they live in a country in which people look different, they still abide by an acceptable standard of morality for the host countries. Armenians are good at assimilating.

Armenians are the native stock of the Armenian Highland (~ E Anatolia). Well, at least for the last ~2500 years. Their Dodecad "Asian" components are extremely limited. Here is the latest Y-DNA frequency from the Armenian DNA project. The Turkic (Asian) Y-DNA haplogroups, or at least those most often associated with the Turkic invasions, found in some Anatolian Turks, are not observed in this sample of 334 Armenians:

I would say closest to Cyprus, Assyrians (not listed), part of the Sicilian spectrum, and then Georgians and Jews.

To me Georgians have a different look than Armenians as a whole and this is because the original Armenian homeland also included lands further south, and modern Armenians are in part descended from them.

I think Sicilians have more Armenian-like ancestry than the reverse. In addition to all of the Neolithic West Asian ancestry from around that area, the Elymians of western Sicily were an Anatolian people who likely shared ancestors with the ancestors of Hittites, Armenians, and so on.

I wouldn't know. Probably their Kavkazi neighbours? Perhaps even some overlap with Azeris (they are mainly Iranics who started speaking Turkish with Kavkazi influences themselves and those Kavkazi influences might make them overlap a bit?).

Azeris look more Turkic than Armenians. They look more like Turks.

My opinion might be distorted. The only Azeri I know has an Armenian grandmother and gets very sensitive when mentioning the post Soviet collapse war. He blames the hatred on the Soviets and thinks common people didn't care about any conflict.
