To those that tested through different companies: were your Gedmatch results different in any way? I'm curious to know if a 23andme, Ftdna, Ancestry, etc. (of the same person) provides the same raw data once run through a GedMatch calculator.

Basicly they do provide same results, they will vary but differences are extremly small.

By extremely small, do you mean within 1-2% or more like 2-5% difference? Or less than 1? Thanks!

Less than percent most of the time.

Gedmatch results between companies are pretty much identical, with only very slight differences around the range of 0.1-0.9%

I have been tested on 23andme and AncestryDNA. See it for yourself:

There's virtually no difference on a pca, you ll get +0,2 there and -0,2% elsewhere it balances itself out usually in the end on a K10 for example. Phasing can produce more differences.

I have tested on three. I get more Iranian admixture on one of the calculators with FTDNA than I did with Ancestry.

So which test is cheapest?

Family Tree DNA has a Christmas special for $59 plus $12 shipping.
23andme is €139 with their Christmas special or $10 off the US price with Groupon.

GEDmatch results with kits from different companies are almost identical, only slightly different.

For example, here are Eurogenes K15 results for one Swedish person with two GEDmatch kits:

1) One kit (probably Ancestry):

Admix Results (sorted):

# Population Percent
1 North_Sea 36.43
2 Atlantic 29.14
3 Baltic 14.14
4 Eastern_Euro 9.94
5 West_Med 5.56
6 South_Asian 1.92
7 West_Asian 1.15
8 Amerindian 0.99
9 Red_Sea 0.64
10 Northeast_African 0.09

2) Another kit (23andMe):

Admix Results (sorted):

# Population Percent
1 North_Sea 36.92
2 Atlantic 29.07
3 Baltic 13.91
4 Eastern_Euro 9.18
5 West_Med 5.69
6 South_Asian 1.81
7 West_Asian 1.54
8 Amerindian 0.92
9 Red_Sea 0.78
10 Northeast_African 0.19

Let's put this to the test:

Difference between 23andme and AncestryDNA

So basically the same point. However 23andme datas have better genotype rate in DIY so ultimately it's probable 23 is very slightly more accurate, especially in deeper autosomal or calculators optimized for 23andme (most of them).

Genotyping is accompanied by small error rates. Maybe if you even test twice at the same company you would get slightly different results.
