Not all, but a good amount aren't clearly from Piedmont, others could be of SI descent by their maternal line.

If I was Italian (southern or northern) I'd say it, I'm not a coward like you, OTH, there isn't in all Europe swarthier people than Vallisoletanos and Zamoranos (people from Valladolid/Zamora) as you well know. It was in those provinces where a lot of muslim converts of North African origin have stayed until now.

It's well known that some 10000 muslims converted to cristianism in the sixteenth century and after that they setled in Zamora/Valladolid. That explains why those provinces are so dark. In fact Zamora/Valladolid are among the darkest regions in Europe, next to Southern Portugal/Southern Spain, Southern Italy/Sicily and Crete. The larger irony here is you probably have some North African ancestor, since you are from Valladolid. Deal with it.
