Georgians still plot closely to Greeks because Greeks colonized the area in antiquity. They look to me like a Greek Serbo-Russian mix.

Genetically they plot very far in a West Eurasian context. That said, phenotypically quite a few of those people would pass.

They dont plot far at all. In fact they have more Greek in them than nearly any other Europeans.

20% Greek with lots of Cypriot and Southern Italian markers.

Your image just shows they have some Turkish-like ancestry (which includes something Greek-like), you talked about plotting and, like I said, in a West Eurasian context there is a big distance between the two:

That is not a marker. Just a geographical reference. The markers are explained underneath.

As you can see, the Turks plot like this (only 11% Greek):


This study is weird anyway, I've read it and posted it long ago. All it says basically is that there was at some relatively recent point an influx of genes in Georgia that their combination ended up Turkish-like from one side.

We know that Greeks and Anatolians/Caucasians were more closely connected until Islam came between them.
