This is in the conspiracy section because I cannot be sure of the quote, but it is interesting nonetheless. It is not the only interesting quote in the article.

Tzipora Menache, Israeli spokeswoman said "You know very well, and the stupid Americans know equally well, that we control their government, irrespective of who sits in the White House. You see, I know it and you know it that no American president can be in a position to challenge us even if we do the unthinkable. What can they (Americans) do to us? We control congress, we control the media, we control show biz, and we control everything in America. In America you can criticize God, but you can’t criticize Israel"

This article makes the argument that they are clearing the space for the new world order capital. It also states that their goals are world wide.

“The Jews” — Shamir makes a distinction between organized Jewry and individual Jews — “intend to turn Jerusalem into the supreme capital of the world, and its rebuilt temple into the focal point of the Spirit on Earth.” Should they succeed, unspeakable despair will follow. “Christianity will die, the spirit will depart from the nations in our part of the world, and our present dubious democracy will be supplanted by a vast theocratic state. . . . De-spiritualized and uprooted, homeless and lonely, yesterday’s Masters of the World [non-Jews] will become slaves in all but name.”

Tzipora Menache

I saw this quote some time ago and hunted it down. (It came out in early February, I think)
Turns out it is bogus.
Bogus quote, bogus writer, bogus site.

This is the *blog* that started it all. Notice what it says:
Now, after this imaginary but very realistic introduction, we shall view the pictures of these “evil terrorists.

I am insistent on fact checking and a story with one source only strikes me as suspicious. Particularly when the one source turns out to be a web site that anyone can post a story on, without providing proof of quotes, etc.

While I do not agree with the Israelis, I do feel their actions on the world stage and their own are of operations is damming enough without making up non-existent spokeswomen and inflammatory quotes.

That one might be fake, but this one is real, from the New York Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/13/washington/13olmert.html

WASHINGTON — In an unusually public rebuke, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel said Monday that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had been forced to abstain from a United Nations resolution on Gaza that she helped draft, after Mr. Olmert placed a phone call to President Bush.

“I said, ‘Get me President Bush on the phone,’ ” Mr. Olmert said in a speech in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon, according to The Associated Press. “They said he was in the middle of giving a speech in Philadelphia. I said I didn’t care: ‘I need to talk to him now,’ ” Mr. Olmert continued. “He got off the podium and spoke to me.”

Israel opposed the resolution, which called for a halt to the fighting in Gaza, because the government said it did not provide for Israel’s security. It passed 14 to 0, with the United States abstaining.

Mr. Olmert claimed that once he made his case to Mr. Bush, the president called Ms. Rice and told her to abstain. “She was left pretty embarrassed,” Mr. Olmert said, according to The A.P.
