New Neighbors from Abroad Join Countryside Folk (http://news.err.ee/economy/a0346ade-ea3b-4880-8c9e-85446d7537aa)
Foreigners are showing increasingly more interest in purchasing cottages in the Estonian countryside, according to real estate firms.
In the past, the Finns have been regular clients. But now Norwegians, Germans and the French are buying summer homes. This year, a third of real estate sales in Pärnu County were made to foreigners, Peep Sooman, director of the real estate company, Pindi Kinnisvara, told Eesti Päevaleht (http://www.epl.ee/artikkel/584799).
Sooman said customers have turned to the Estonian market largely because of Estonia’s positive economic reputation in the international community. Homebuyers from elsewhere have been most attracted to old farms and picturesque waterside locations.
