My and some of my friends want to visit the Caucasus region for about one month.
How about Armenia? Unfortunately there is not that much information online so I'll ask here.
What about traveling. What do you suggest? Train, bus, taxi?
Some of us speak Russian, is that enough? What about English? Useful? And if so, where?
What about the security? We are a mixed group is it safe for European girls?
We don't need hotels but are there even hostels.
Any cultural rules we should obey?
Some advice and must sees are welcomed too.
Thanks for answering!
I've heard there are a lot of Armenoids over there. IDK about Armenia, but in Europe and the US, armenoids have a reputation of being real tricky and swindling so watch out!

Armenians are a Caucasian conservative Christian population, I am personally not that comfortable with this, but if you don't mind this, then I can tell you I am from Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. I recommend you visit our country's capital to get a better idea of our general phenotypes, over 1 million people live in Yerevan, and there are only 3 million people in our entire country (except Karabagh). In the capital city, you'd get a better idea of what modern and more civilized people. You'd get better hospitality there.

Hard to believe, but the phenotypes are not that important for such travels.

I recommend you go to Jermuk and Sevan.
Jermuk (Armenian: Ջերմուկ) is a mountain spa town in the southern Armenian province of Vayots Dzor Province, 53 km east of the provincial capital Yeghegnadzor. It was a popular destination during the Soviet era and nowadays is still famous for its hot springs and mineral water brands bottled in the town. It is attractive for its fresh air, waterfalls, artificial lakes, walking trails, the surrounding forests and mineral water pools. The town is being redeveloped to become a modern centre of tourism and health services. Jermuk is also being set up to become a major Chess centre, with numerous chess international tournaments scheduled in the town.
As of the 2011 census, the population of the town is 4,628. The nearby village of Kechut (pop. 1,083) is also part of the municipality (community) of Jermuk.
Sevan (Armenian: Սևան), is a town and popular resort in Armenia, located in the Gegharkunik Province on the northwestern shores of Lake Sevan. The town is located at a height of more than 1,925 metres (6,316 feet) above sea level, 65 km (40 mi) northeast of the capital Yerevan.
The town is surrounded by Sevan National Park, which extend from the northeastern parts of the town to the southwest, while Lake Sevan forms the natural border of the city to the east.
As of the 2011 census, the population of the town was 19,229. However, as per the 2016 official estimate, the population of Sevan is 19,200.

Armenia is a very safe country. There are a lot of hostells in Yerevan. Food is very good, natural, healthy, tasty and inexpensive. Taxis are incredibly cheap, it's more convenient to use online service Yandex-Taxi, you can download that app to your android device.
Russian and English will help.

I'm also planning a trip to Transcaucasia in 2017. Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia: they will be respectively the 81st, 82nd, 83rd visited countries on my counter.
length of stay: about 1 month.
How much time should I dedicate to each country ?
I've read that Armenia and Georgia are the most spectacular and scenic. Azerbaijan is said to be touristically less attractive and worthy of interest.
Furthermore, Azeris are known for being less friendly and welcoming than their neighbors, although living standards are higher in Azerbaijan thanks to oil.
These countries have high mountain peaks. Is it OK to travel in winter, or are mountain roads closed due to heavy snow ? Is it better to wait until spring (blooming nature) ?
Is it a problem travelling both to Armenia AND Azerbaijan, knowing the long existing feud between these two rival countries ? (Artsakh, Nakhichevan...)
Is a visa necessary to visit these countries for a EU-citizen ?
Last question: which airline offers the best deals departing from Paris ?

As for Armenia I can say that it is OK to travel in winter, but it is a just matter of taste, if you like winter sports, skiing, etc.
Winter in Armenia is soft enough, and the roads are usually open and passable.
But in my opinion the best time to travel to Armenia is autumn, September and October, when the weather is perfect comfort, it's warm but not too hot, and there is a fantastic abundance of delicious fruits, berries and vegetables with incredible cheapness.
As for Armenia and Azerbaijan, I think that probably it will be better first visit Azerbaijan and then just go to Armenia, because at the border in Azerbaijan tourists who previously visited Armenia can get some troubles.
As far as I know, EU citizens do not need a visa to visit Armenia and stay up to 90 days.
So in short, Armenia is a country with beautiful nature, delicious food and very friendly people.
Last but not least Armenia is a very safe country, where crime practically is non-existant.

National Geographic has included Yerevan in the list of 6 unexpected cities in the world for lovers of good food
Yerevan, Armenia
Yerevan is blooming. The capital of Armenia - a tiny country whose natural beauty, culture, and burgeoning tourism industry landed it on our recent list of 10 places that deserve more travelers — has charm in spades and enough places to eat to keep your belly happily filled.
Best Neighborhood for a Food Frenzy
For a day of good eating, choose Charles Aznavour Square as your center point and fan out from there. Start off with a breakfast of waffles or French toast at the ArtBridge Bookstore Cafe. You can pick up a Yerevan guidebook or some postcards on your way in—the cafe is inside a popular bookshop. After a morning of sightseeing, hit Khinkali for a lunch of traditional Georgian khinkali, large dumplings usually stuffed with ground beef and cilantro. In the afternoon, recharge with an iced coffee or relax with a glass of wine at Martini Royale, an airy, modern Italian cafe right on the square. Snag a table by the floor-to-ceiling windows and people watch. Close the day out at Dolmama. Inside, this warm-toned Pushkin Street restaurant looks like an old master painting, and the traditional eastern Armenian food is just as appealing. The focus is dolmas, meat and rice wrapped in grape leaves.
Best Neighborhood for Armenian Barbecue
Armenia is known for khorovats, meat grilled on a skewer, and the place to get the best khorovats in Yerevan is Proshyan Street (which becomes Paronyan Street). Barbecue Street, as it’s known, is lined with khorovats restaurants (try Urartu) and roadside grills.
Best Neighborhood to Cafe-Hop
Spend an afternoon—or more—in the neighborhood around the Cascade, a massive stairway that links the Yerevan city center to the Monument neighborhood. At Charles, serving both European and Armenian dishes, an outdoor area makes it perfect for nice nights. Try the lamb confit. A few blocks south, Malocco Cafe is a cozy spot ideal for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Save room for dessert and head over to Cascade Chocolateria, a cafe and chocolate shop. Tuck in for chocolate fondue or nibble on an assortment of truffles and other sweets.

Do they speak Russian in more rural landscapes? If we go to Armenia, we don't want to stay in Yerevan but also visit the landscape. Especially the ancient Christian heritage is interesting to me. As I said we would travel with some people who speak fluently Russian. But nobody speaks Armenian.
Is this a major problem?

Well I don't think it would be a problem. I can definitely say that Russian is widely spoken everywhere in Armenia. Of course very old women or little children in rural areas may not know Russian.

Hello
Armenia is a nation, and former Soviet republic, in the mountainous Caucasus region between Asia and Europe. Among the earliest Christian civilizations, it’s defined by religious sites including the Greco-Roman Temple of Garni and 4th-century Etchmiadzin Cathedral, headquarters of the Armenian Church. Khor Virap Monastery is a pilgrimage site near Mount Ararat, a dormant volcano just across the border in Turkey.

You forget the monasteries of Geghard, Tatev, Khor Virap, Noravank, the Temple of Garni, the Debed Canyon, the cathedral of Etchmiadzin and more...
But since you mentioned the genocide memorial, let's talk about it. It's something we don't really learn at school in France. We only focus on WW1 and the aftermath of the Treaty of Versailles. We don't learn how the Young Turks from the Committee of Union and Progress persecuted the Armenians, the ideal scapegoats of a dying Ottoman Empire. The Turks, assisted by their fellow Muslim comrades the Kurds and the Circassians, behaved like jackals, there's no other word, and slaughtered Christian victims: Armenians of course but also Pontic Greeks and Assyrians. Men were shot and women, elderly, children were deported to the Syrian and Mesopotamian deserts where they couldn't survive the scorching heat Young girls were sold for the harems. Atatürk continued the same shameful policy before he proclaimed the Republic.
Sorry for reminding this tragedy, it's still a bone of contention in Turkey, but truth has to be known. I still like Turkey and the Turkish world the same way I like Germany even though I blame the Nazis for what they did.

Armenians were deported because of collaborating with Russians, putting up armed resistance against the government and the cruel actions of Armenian gangs against the muslim civilians. What happened to the thousands of innocent Armenians was a tragedy but stop being snobby and whitewash their crimes under the "genocide" banner. There was no single evil side in that conflict.

So? Both sides have been committed cruel crimes and both people suffered a lot. When you try to stab an Empire in the back in the middle of fucking World War you'll face with the consequences. I know that Azeri families were brutalised by Armenian bolsheviks, seeking revenge for the genocide. But there were no mass murders comparable to the Armenian genocide.
Once again, I don't blame Turkey for that. I'm simply stating the facts. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone, German, French, British, Russians, Japanese (in Nanjing and in all their Asian sphere of influence), Spanish conquistadors, Arabs, Laos (Hmong)... there's no people on Earth with no blood on hands.

The U.S. State Department lists Armenia among the safest places to visit, ranked at level 1. On the other hand, Turkey is considered very unsafe, at level 3 (with an advisory to reconsider travel), and Azerbaijan has been ranked at level 2. As with Turkey, the State Department considers Azerbaijan to be unsafe to travel in. This article, from the Armenian Weekly, was published on January 12th.

Armenia among Safest Countries for American Travel in New State Department Ranking
Published by Armenian Weekly News on January 12, 2018
Armenia is among the safest countries for Americans to travel to, according to a new rating system announced by the United States Department of State.
The revamped U.S. State Department system, which was unveiled Wednesday, ranks countries by threat level based on several factors, including the risk of crime, civil unrest, terrorism, and natural disaster. The tiers are the following: Level 1, Exercise normal precautions. Level 2, Exercise increased caution. Level 3, Reconsider travel. Level 4, Do not travel.
Armenia has been included in Level 1, the lowest advisory level for safety and security risk, though the travel advisory lists Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) as a region to avoid “due to armed conflict.”
Neighboring Georgia has also been ranked in the Level 1 category, whereas Azerbaijan has a Level 2 ranking. The State Department also urged Americans to reconsider travel to Russia (Level 3) “due to terrorism and harassment” and Turkey (Level 3) “due to terrorism and arbitrary detentions.”

I've always been curious about Armenia as well. It's one of those small countries that has an outsized footprint because of its diaspora, like Lebanon.

Armenia is a small country indeed but for example the Embassy of the United States of America to Armenia for a long time was the largest US Embassy in the world, now it's the largest American embassy in Europe and second in the world after the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. By the way China now is constructing its new embassy in Armenia which will be near the US embassy and it will be the second largest embassy in Armenia after the US Embassy.

That makes sense since Armenia is a crucial player on the new silk road.

i would go as far as saying that 99% of caucasus is safe now, they 're all in syria/iraq xD with the help of russian authorities (so they can be bombed in a foreign country lmao)
While both Georgia and Armenia are given high marks as safe countries, both Azerbaijan and Turkey are considered to be unsafe by the US State Department. My source for it is below the link that was published in January of this year.

I've been seriously considering a trip to Armenia and Georgia (especially the wine regions, yum), but a lot of the places I am interested in seem hard to get to unless you pay for an organised tour. Is there a lot of tourist-friendly infrastructure there? Is it easy to train/bus between the two countries?

You need not pay for an organised tour and can easily travel by your own in Armenia. There are a lot of video in internet about solo travels in Armenia. Even a girl travelling solo on bycicle through the whole country. As to crossing border and travelling Armenia - Georgia, it's very easy and can be done by air, train, bus, minibus, taxi and even hitchhiking on foot.

Levon Arakelyan, who was builder by profession, spent 23 years crafting the incredible 3,000-square-foot subterranean space - a seven-story cave and he was even working on the project on the day he died in 2008, aged 67
Levon would often spend 18 hours a day underground only emerging for a few hours to sleep before starting again.
It is impossible to photograph well, but there's a kind of portal above ground at the very top that runs down through all the levels. One can stand in the back room of the house and look all the way down to the bottom level some 65 feet below you
His wife Tosya now opens the quirky basement to visitors.

The Daily Beast's author William O’Connor travelled through Armenia at the end of May (from Yerevan to Tatev Monastery) and asked himself if he was driving through Armenia — or Teletubbyland?
Some quotes and pictures bellow:
I felt as if one of those Microsoft Office screensavers had come to life.
Roads looped through fields full of wildflowers, which in turn gave way to hills colored an almost-too-vibrant-to-be-natural green, set against perfect snowcapped mountains and empty sky.
At first, you come across a field of flowers, and you pull the car over because you simply must have a photo of that. Same for the field of a different kind of wildflowers a dozen miles down the road. And the next. Eventually, it sinks in that this is what the whole drive will be like.
All I could think about was how lucky I was that in the small span of time that is 48 hours, I’d made one of the most memorable and remarkable pilgrimages of my life.

Couple from Netherlands doing touristic business in Armenia
Sandra and Marty, a couple from Netherlands came to Armenia seven years ago to share technologies of growing Dutch roses in greenhouses and they did not even imagine that they would remain in Armenia after the end of the contract.
"I didn’t even hear about the existence of Armenia, but very soon Armenia became dear to me, Sandra told, I started to learn Armenian. Of course, it was hard for me, but I managed. We bought home in the village of Goght located about 40 km from Yerevan. The view from our house is enough to stay here forever. This is a fairytale. After renovation, we decided to open a guest house. We started a business that we had never done before. Now we have tourists quite a lot - from Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Holland, Sweden, Russia. Most tourists come from Germany. Germans like to travel. If, for example, the Dutch first ask where Armenia is, the Germans immediately say: we don’t know about Armenia, but we definitely want to come".
Sandra and her husband go to Holland for two weeks every year. And during this short time they manage to miss Armenia.
"We love Armenia. When we leave for Holland, I want to go back to Armenia. I worked and lived in different countries, but I always wanted to return to Holland, I understood that those regions were not for me. But Armenia gave another feeling, said Sandra.

My knowledge about Armenia :
Armenia is a relatively small country in the Caucasus. The people descended from the Armenian Kingdom, which was a lot bigger than modern Armenia. Most Armenians lived under Ottoman Rule and there were cases of persecution and genocides. Majority of Armenians are Orthodox/Eastern Christians. That’s it.
Oh, and also the fact that Kim Kardashian has an Armenian ancestry.

In Armenia, there are millennial traditions of celebrating the New Year.
Armenians had three New Year holidays: “Amanor”, “Navasard” and January 1. In the oldest times Armenians celebrated the New Year, called “Amanor”, on March 21, on the day of the vernal equinox.
In old times “Navasard” (new year) was celebrated in Armenia on August 11.
After the adoption of Christianity, the New Year holiday was postponed from August 11 to the Sunday following November 10, and due to the transition to the Gregorian calendar, from the XVIII Armenians began to celebrate the beginning of the year on January 1 everywhere.
Before Christianity, Armenians in the New Year attached importance to the number 7 by the number of seven pagan deities. In total, 7 types of fruit and 7 dishes were obligatory on the New Year's table.
In past the main treat for the new year was "Tarehats" - bread baked from flour, nuts, raisins. According to the tradition, “anush apur” (soup with dried fruits), gata and hapama - pumpkin stuffed with honey, rice, nuts and dried fruits were also prepared for the holiday.
Instead of spruce in past Armenians decorated the "Tree of Life" («Կենաց ծառ»), which they tied and fastened with wheat straw. Knitted dolls, sprigs of cinnamon and fruits were hung on it. “Kahand Pap” brought to Armenian children gifts , symbolizing fertility and the beginning of a new life.

The 18 Best Budget Travel Destinations For 2019

Armenia is one of the Caucus Mountain's best kept secrets... and with cheap prices, it's a budget traveler's dream.
Set in the Caucasus Mountains, Armenia is a hidden gem that’s still untouched by mass tourism , and yet has so much to offer: rich history, wineries, impressive landscapes, ancient monasteries and breathtaking mountains as far as your eyes can see. The capital, Yerevan, is a lively city with wide avenues, delicious restaurants, museums and street markets selling local handicrafts.
Because of my Armenian heritage, I grew up on delicious Armenian food. Some of my favorite local dishes include dolma, khorovats or barbequed meat, and local cheeses with lavash bread. For wine lovers, Armenia is the perfect place to try wines made from different fruits such as pomegranate (Armenia’s national symbol), blackberries and cherries.
Outside of the capital is picturesque nature. You can pay a visit to the oldest winery in the world in Areni, stop by stunning monasteries, or check out the oldest cathedral in the world in Etchmiadzin.

A family from Russia posted a video about their travel to Armenia with their little child and they called Armenia - The Land where Families are Happy.
They wrote about their travel:
We celebrated the year of Zabava (a little one year old daughter) and two of our Birthdays, traveling in Armenia. ...We can say: this is one of the best countries we have managed to visit. People are friendly, families are large and live together, children, and often adults, are joyful and open. And also beautiful nature, live rituals in churches and delicious food. There are countries in the world where people have right values. One of such countries is Armenia ... A daughter after Armenia, going out into the street, is trying to catch the views and smiles of Muscovites ... Damn, to accustom the child to smiles, I wish again to return to Armenia, to THERE ...

On the eve, until deep evening, unmarried girls and young men eat "Ahi Blit" (salty flatbread) which should be baked only by happy married women and in the night dream a future husband (wife) will come to those who ate the Ahi Blit and give them water to drink.

"When we remember Armenia, a smile is drawn on our face. Those who say that in this country located between Europe and Asia was the Garden of Eden do not go uncharted. A young family from Russia left their hometown Chelyabinsk and settled in Armenia. Now they lived about a year in Armenia and told about their life there.
Some quotations below:

English translation:
I work as a programmer in an Armenian company. The IT industry is very developed in Yerevan, a lot of work for programmers. There are high stakes for this industry. Many of my colleagues are Armenians, of course. I managed to make friends with them, at the weekend we play football with a team of IT specialists.
There are statistics on the Internet that call Yerevan one of the safest cities in the world. Yes, this is indeed confirmed by the fact that I can go outside at any time of the day, and I will not see drunken companies or aggressive young people. In Chelyabinsk, after 11 pm, walking around the city is not safe. Especially in the Metallurgical district where we lived.
While still living in Chelyabinsk, in 2014 I began to get involved in running. First I took part in the Chelyabinsk half marathon, then in the Roman one. Yerevan has excellent conditions for jogging. There is the Hrazdan gorge, you can run there, as well as in numerous parks and avenues. Unlike Chelyabinsk, I can run at any time, without thinking about whether the sky is clear today, if there were no emissions today.
During our stay in Yerevan, we got acquainted with the guys from Tri Club Yerevan - the movement of triathletes. We joined this community, where a great team, almost family. We go through training of various kinds, we hold events. Of the last such competitions - winter triathlon. My wife was also fascinated by running and in the autumn of last year participated in the Yerevan marathon.
For us as for Chelyabinsk, the main factor when moving, I repeat, was ecology. In Yerevan, it is magnificent compared to Chelyabinsk. Our sores and diseases disappeared: the daughter stopped coughing, my wife lost all kinds of allergies that had bothered her before. We live on the 14th floor and, waking up, we see a clear sky from the window and hear birds singing.
Local products and products are very cheap. In the season of vegetables and fruits for about 120 rubles, I can buy a 20-liter bucket of local apricots. There are a lot of fruits and vegetables here, these are vitamins, and this is cheap - also a plus of the country.
By the way, the Armenian Dram is one of the most stable currencies. During the year that we live here, its course to the dollar has not changed.
(In Russia) If you do not like a person, you openly tell him it. Armenians do not have this, they will be friendly towards everyone, even if they are not interested in this person. It is rather European behavior.
After about six months of living in Yerevan, I began to understand the life of the locals and Armenian mentality. After Chelyabinsk, it was strange for me to see a picture when you just walk down the street and people smile to you. If you see this in Russia, then you will think that a person is either crazy or wants something from you. In Armenia, this is the norm.

Journalist from Kyrgyzstan visited Armenia and shared her impressions, here are below some excerpts:

The city where you want to wander for days - Yerevan through the eyes of a journalist from Kyrgyzstan
Yerevan is a city that one can fall in love at first sight. The capital of Armenia can be attributed to those types of cities where you can wander all day and enjoy the buildings, squares, shops and people. On weekends, street musicians perform here, fairs are organized. I happened to live here for two weeks and this is the longest trip in my life.
The first impression Yerevan makes for a journalist from Kyrgyzstan is cleanliness. The city is “licked” to the brilliance, and it would not even occur to an Armenian and throw a garbage on the street. In addition to cleanliness, absolute order is imposed here. No spontaneous trade or ugly stalls, pasted advertisements. Drivers follow the rules of the road, they can miss a pedestrian crossing the wrong place. Every day I cross the road through a double solid, and there was no day that the cars would not stop and not let me through.
To my surprise, food in Yerevan is cheaper than in Kyrgyzstan by almost 1.5 times.

One of the big advantages of the journalistic profession is travel. Traveling journalists are not like traveling simple tourists. Because, firstly, most often we travel not at our own expense, which is not the case with tourists. As a rule, travel journalist associated with professional activities. And our profession at the same time gives us the opportunity to develop, learn something new, meet people and see other countries, cities, culture and traditions.
Secondly, arriving in a different country, the journalist begins to study it. That is, we look at how well the airport is arranged, which roads are in this country. While we are going from the airport to the city, we study the standard of living of the population for homes and cars, and from the window of the airplane window we estimate the level of pollution of the ecology of the host country. While other tourists view and admire the sights, I observe the driving culture of the city, the cleanliness of the city and the behavior of the locals.
Yerevan is a city that can fall in love at first sight. The capital of Armenia can be attributed to those types of cities where you can wander all day and enjoy the buildings, squares, shops and people. On weekends, street musicians perform here, fairs are organized. I happened to live here for two weeks and this is the longest trip of my life.
Yerevan is considered one of the oldest cities in the world. According to official information, Yerevan is older than Rome by 29 years. Armenia, like many other countries, has something to show to a foreigner. In Yerevan, there are echoes of the past, which can be seen in old, but well-kept buildings, temples and churches, or feel the bitter and bitter past of Armenians in museums and monuments.
In addition, not so much historical buildings that are the highlight of the city and give Yerevan a special charm, but also new buildings are striking. Armenians do not build boxed buildings. Trading houses or business centers here correspond to the historical appearance of the city.
Of course, it is necessary to focus on restaurants and cafes. Here you can not just eat and drink wine or brandy, but also learn the special traditions or culture of the Armenians. The waiter can make a tour of the Armenian cuisine, recommend a tasty and inexpensive dish and leave an indelible impression of the hospitality of this country. Armenians joke that every waiter in a restaurant is a sommelier. Drinking wine or brandy is of particular importance here, so the choice of this product is a whole procession and deepening in history.
Separately, I would like to mention the monuments. The city has a lot of monuments erected to prominent people with an unusual life history. For example, on the main street of the capital of Armenia is a monument to Karabala. The story of a ruined rich man who, with grief, became a drunkard in order to survive, he sold flowers or simply gave them to lovers and girls. Also very interesting is the monument to the outstanding Armenian composer Komitas, who could not come to normal consciousness after seeing with his own eyes the murder of more than 200 Armenians. At that time it was decided to destroy the Armenian intelligentsia, Komitas miraculously managed to escape. But he ended his life in a psychiatric hospital in France, never having managed to recover from what he saw. Such sights cast the past and do not forget about the difficult history of the people.
In addition to famous people, the monuments are set to the heroes of films from their favorite scenes. For example, the Soviet film “Men” was shot in Yerevan. The plot of the film is that four friends - Vazgen, Sako, Suren and Aram - live in Yerevan and work as taxi drivers. Then one day Aram, the most modest and shy of the whole company, hopelessly falls in love with a girl named Karine. Seeing the suffering of a friend, the trinity uses all its resourcefulness and ingenuity to make the beauty pay attention to Aram. Four heroes erected a monument by the window of the house where the girl lived in the film. A monument to the famous Soviet troika can also be found on Yerevan Street: Yuri Nikulin, Georgy Vitsinu and Yevgeny Morgunov from the movie “The Caucasian Captive”.
Only in the center of Yerevan we counted dozens of monuments with an interesting history and recall the past.
Observations from everyday life: transportation here, the same as in Bishkek. There are buses and minibuses, the latter only for sedentary passengers. There are practically no traffic jams. This is probably due to the small population of the country - only 3.5 million inhabitants.
To my surprise, food in Yerevan is cheaper than in Kyrgyzstan by almost 1.5 times.
Also my attention was attracted by the fact that in Yerevan most people speak English. Often it is easier for them to explain in English than in Russian. And the Russian language without the need here is not used.

I found my happiness in Yerevan and I am not going to leave here
Almost ten years ago, an Italian Federico Tarabella from Tuscan arrived in Yerevan and could not leave Armenia anymore. He told about what kept him in Armenia.
"I found my happiness in Yerevan and am not going to leave here. I moved to Armenia in June 2010, I was then 27 years old. I just returned to Italy from Australia, where I was on the program "Work and travel". I came to homeland on business, with the intention to return to Australia, but quite unexpectedly I received a job offer in Armenia from an Italian company...
Armenia is a fantastic country. There is something very special here ... I never thought that I would stay here, marry and that my child would be born here... There is something in the air, something that makes me feel at home like in a song "Սա Երևանն է, այստեղ դու տանն ես…" (" This is Yerevan, and here you are at home ".) Armenia is the place where I would like my son to grow up. The concept of family has a very solid foundation here. I admire the relationship in the Armenian family. In addition, Armenia is safe for children - no kidnapping, no drugs, etc.
When I arrived in Armenia, I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and feminine the girls were here. But I did not plan to marry. I was just starting my career, but for marriage, stability is needed ... With my future wife we worked together, she was so cute, but I couldn’t take care of her, we were colleagues. When she left work, we started dating, and four years later we got married.
Traditions are very strong in the family of my spouse, and from the very beginning I was very attracted to it. I come from a country that has completely forgotten its foundations. Armenia seemed to take me back in time.
I like a lot of things here, especially safety. That is why I really want my son to grow up and get an education in Armenia, away from everything unnecessary, from harmful acquaintances. I see a great future for him and I will do my best to make his dreams come true".

A young girl from Moscow visited her friend in Yerevan and wrote:
В Армении я чувствую себя такой свободной.
В Европе все не так... там красиво, хорошо, но, блин, Армения – это любовь. Здесь особую атмосферу создают мои друзья и знакомые.
Здесь чудесно. Здесь легко дышать.
Я до сих пор охереваю от того, как здесь красиво.
Армения супер! Второй раз здесь. Кайф.
Я так не хочу обратно...
In Armenia, I feel so free.
In Europe, everything is good, but, damn, Armenia is a love. Here my friends and acquaintances create a special atmosphere.
It is wonderful here. It's easy to breathe here.
I am still freaking out how beautiful it is here.
Armenia is super! The second time is here. Bliss out.
I so much do not want to go back ...

By the way, sometimes it is cheaper to go to Armenia than to stay where you are. Some of my relatives traveled from Moscow to Armenia, received complicated dental treatment there, and returned to Moscow, and it was cheaper for them than if they would have done the same in Moscow. :D
got a perfect unusual gift from my Armenian acquaintances who currently live in Artzah..

It depends on what is exactly meant by the term "Armenoid". Some individuals who in classical anthropology were issued as a sample type of Armenoid are practically non-existant in modern Armenia, others are quite common.

Armenianness is not determined by blood, it is a philosophy and way of life".

Natalia Oreiro, famous singer and actress from Uruguay, gave a concert in Yerevan, on April 7.
On the meeting with Armenian journalists the Uruguayan beauty asked in Armenian “How are you?” and said that she had always loved Armenia, and she often spoke with Armenians in her native Uruguay and in Argentina.
“I am very glad to be here with my husband and son,” she said. “I slept all day yesterday because I arrived at dawn and was very tired. And the husband and son walked around the city all day, went into one old cafe and brought a long bread, and I ate it all night. “In Argentina and in Uruguay, they love Armenians very much, did you know about it?”, the actress asked.

Armenian and British military bands perform in Yerevan
The special military band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and the Salamanca Band and Bugles of The Rifles band of the UK Ministry of Defense on Monday 3 June gave an outdoor concert in Yerevan.
Among the attendees were Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Gabriel Balayan, UK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Judith Farnworth and other guests.

I'd like to add, pay attention to the fact that practically no special security measures were taken despite the presence of official guests. People calmly walked around, many with their children, listened to the concert. Yerevan is really a very safe city. By the way, I remember when Days of the Francophonie took place in Yerevan, an open-air concert was also held, which was attended by about 80 official delegations and forty heads of state including Macron from France and Trudeau from Canada, and also no extraordinary security measures were required. Or when Merkel from Germany came to Yerevan, she also calmly walked around the city and talked with people in the street.

Also rock musicians visited Gyumri N6 Music School and met children.
“It was fantastic, just fantastic. The spirit of music is here again. Music is the easiest way to unite people, make them happy.” said Gillan.
“It’s great to see young people so involved in music and playing with so much love. I really enjoyed their performance. I am so, so proud to be a part of all this,” said Tony Iommi.

Underground city at a depth of over 200-250 meters with an area of about 40 square kilometers (!) under Yerevan
There are salt caves with countless galleries, tunnels and halls right under the city of Yerevan at a depth of about 200-250 meters, where salt is not only mined, but there is also a medical center, gyms, galleries for walks and niches for relax. The air in salt caves is healing. Salt clears any infection from the nasopharynx and lungs, often in one visit.
The entire population of Yerevan can be hidden in these caves! :)

I've heard there are a lot of Armenoids over there. IDK about Armenia, but in Europe and the US, armenoids have a reputation of being real tricky and swindling so watch out!
What a disgusting thing to say in a thread like this. Not even Hitler would have been such a bigot.

Famous coach Vicente Del Bosque in Armenia
Famous coach Vicente Del Bosque, former chief coach of Spanish national team has arrived in Armenia and is planning to share his skills and experience with Armenian experts through coaching lectures.
At a press conference in Yerevan, he said:
First I must congratulate on the occasion of the two victories of Armenian National team against Lichtenstein and Greece in the Euro 2020 qualifier. My friends who work with the Armenian national team always tell very good things, they are very satisfied. They’ve told me only positive things about Armenia and I am happy to be here. In order to achieve good results Armenian coaches must have good assistants at their sides. Continuous work must also be done with the youth football teams because they can achieve great results in the future
My seminar will be on the topic of common development, starting with youth football. Armenian coaches should be surrounded by good specialists, physical training coaches and other specialists. All this will lead to the growth of Armenian football.
For example, in Spain, many football players and coaches go outside the country to grow. A striking example of this is the presence of our specialists in Armenia. During the lecture, I will try to convey the Spanish experience to Armenian coaches. We have a lot of experience, we know what problems can arise in teams, how to work in the most difficult moments.
