I think he does pass in all of the southern Balkans -- Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, etc

Also there is a Greek surname I have see that is very similar.. Georgiadis.
Obviously Pontic surnames have a similar ending as some Georgian ones.. -iadis and -dze. Not a coincidence.

Yep, and Anatolian Greeks have surnames with a similar ending as some Turkish ones (-oglou vs -oglu)

I've never seen pontic Greek with DZE ending surname, mostly IADi (wich is not Georgian) and Russian endings, like EV, or OV.
