I wish wild boar could be released officially by Defra. Defra is letting the feral populations live in a rather precarious existence - they are being left alone in most cases but they aren't officially being reintroduced, maybe Defra is seeing how it goes or something.
Even if they're not introduced to the mainland they could be released on larger islands where they once roamed such as the Isle of Wight or Walney Island.
