My guess is Swedish. But I might be wrong. She is from South Dakota, which is full of Swedes.

Not a lot of Swedes in the Dakotas, they are more in Minnesota. The Dakotas are full Germans and Norwegians... so I am going to go with some sort of hybrid between the dominant ethnic backgrounds of the state (German, Norwegian and English).
