I found this part from the book "The Pianist" by Szpilman (the one the movie was based on) quite interesting, this is narrated while he is working outside of the Warsaw Ghetto (translated from the book in Spanish):

One day an old friend of mine passed by next to our group. It was Tadeus Blumental, a Jew, but with such an "aryan" appearance that he did not have to confess his origins and was able to live outside the walls of the Ghetto.

(Page 48. Amaranto Editores, 2001. 9th edition).

Discuss. Could Jews who didn't look "Jewish" pretty much at all, pass for any other "Aryan" during Nazi rule and thus avoid persecution?
