Do you know if she was expecting those results? In particular the Italian and Iberian...
Anyway, the test results seems really accurate for a Canadian, since It's able to distinguish British Islanders from other Northern Europeans. I think 23andMe's test may just have been surpassed :thumb001:

Idk whether she was expecting the Italian/Iberian or not. The only thing she seemed to have mentioned was just that she was Canadian. https://twitter.com/samanthah706.
I also came across two other MHDNA results posted on YouTube. One White-American lady, and another Black guy who also had some Euro and Native-American admix.
Anyway the test seems high quality and cutting edge, and like you said seemingly as good..or maybe even better and more accurate than 23andme!
..R u planning on doing this test too?,, My kit should be arriving in a few days I believe..I'm excited to send in my sample!

I might do it, it's 89€ right now including shipping, which is a lot cheaper than 23andMe was and still is. But first I want to see some more results to make sure the test is good.
I also heard that they will accept uploads of 23andMe raw data for free in the near future, so anyone that did 23andMe will be able to get their ancestry report for free (but just ancestry report, not the full thing). But I don't know how compatible their test is when using 23andMe's tested SNP's... Might give worse results than with MyHeritage's chip.

I already have my 23andme, FTDNA, and Ancestry raw data uploaded onto MH for several months now...and the only thing they gave me was relative matches, but no ancestry admix report. Based on what I've read they 'might' provide 'basic' ancestry reports to data uploaders sometime in the future, but reserve the more advanced reports to those who buy their kit....I just couldn't wait, plus I really wanted the advanced reports, so I made the plunge and bought me a kit(shipping is running late though lol- almost 4 weeks now).

Yes, they say they'll only give a "basic" ancestry report, we'll just have to see how basic it is... Hopefully not too basic :P
Do you know what the advanced reports are besides cousin stuff? Medical reports or something along those lines?
A good thing I've noticed about getting their kit is that their chip seems to test a lot of SNPs that 23andMe doesn't test. The two of them together should cover most of the more important and interesting SNPs.
Edit: Their test also has a lot of populations that 23andMe doesn't have.

The only advanced reports I've heard about is the Founder Populations Project: http://helpcenter.myheritage.com/DNA/Ethnicity-Estimate/908697351/What-is-the-Founder-Populations-project.htm which should be finalized soon. Currently they only test for 36 populations: http://helpcenter.myheritage.com/DNA/Ethnicity-Estimate/915381541/Which-ethnicities-does-MyHeritage-compare-my-DNA-with.htm ,but are going to increase that to 100+ after the project is complete. As far as I know those who buy the kit will benefit from the Founder Population Project, while uploaders will only benefit from their current set of 36 reference populations.
Plus they are in Beta status or so I've heard, and plan on having additional features in the future. I'm not exactly sure of what the features will entail though.. Perhaps maybe chromosome painting/ haplogroups/ chromosome browser amongst other things idk.

Yea, they seem to be a much more active company than 23andMe.
100+ populations? Amazing... Do you have a list of those 100 populations? I've searched for it but I don't think it's released.

I didn't get any ancestry results. Just DNA matches.

I'm assuming so, though I haven't seen enough results to draw a definite conclusion.

I haven't seen any list yet.
but I've already mailed in my sample. I'm excited to see and share my results online.

Weren't you planning on ordering a kit for one of your relatives?

I was thinking of it, but it's kind of hard. She's also pretty old, so I'm not sure she'd understand the instructions.

She does not look 80% Native American. Something is fishy.

How Native would you say she looks IYO instead?
To my eye she seems to pass as a full North-African, or maybe a harniza or mestiza ...at least to me.

Harnizas or mestizas score in the 35-55% range. I thought she would score around 40% or maybe 50%.

She doesn't really look N.African to me but i wonder what they call "central American", is it really native American, or something in a more recent sense (like a mix of native and Hispanic etc..)

That could make sense. Or maybe it was more like an oracle than an admixture calculator.

The polynesian that she was mentioning..I can see that too. Her skin tone and features do seem to have some affinity to polynesian-islanders.
No idea if their native american reference could be a mix or not. Makes sense as being the case for her in particular I would imagine. According to info on their Founder-Population-Project which they're finalizing( http://helpcenter.myheritage.com/DNA/Ethnicity-Estimate/908697351/What-is-the-Founder-Populations-project.htm ) they want to collect samples from their website members whose "family trees exemplify consistent heritage from the same region or ethnicity for many generations". ...But if they did use a heavily mixed population for their native reference I would agree that it indeed does seem like a bad decision on their part. ....I wonder what kind of Native samples were used for 23andme and Ancestry.com.

How about outside Latin-America where do you think she might be able to fit outside of it IYO?
I can see how she could be mistaken for Polynesian like she was saying. Actually I can see her passing in Easter Island, or even Tahiti.
