Does anyone here know where I can buy a good chess program. I am reading theory books, but also want a good program to help improve my game.

As far as proprietary software goes, Chessmaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chessmaster) is the best I've tried.

I'll ask my brother, he writes chess compilers.

http://www.chess.com/ is a good resource and also has a forum. Maybe you can browse around there. Their chess programmes available for download are nice, but I almost always beat it (downloaded for my Android phone). :D

Fritz 12 (http://www.chessbase.com/shop/product.asp?pid=467) is the best choice imo.
