In an interview he said that both his parents are from Pola (Pula), implying they are both from the Italian community. His father was the journalist Claudio Radin. Not able to find anything more than this. Btw he looks to me North-Eastern Italian.

Yeah, I also think he is fully Italian, someone told me his mother is maybe Croatian but I wasn't sure.

He says in this interview that both his parents are among the Italians who didn't left Pola. His paternal roots are from Parenzo/Poreč and Umago/Umag, from the village Radini.

Exactly. :)

Probably from the Latin pullus (chick), in Italian "pollastrella" is a girl/bimbo/chick. :D

In Albanian pula - chicken, pulastre - young chicken (my region at least, haven't heard it from others)

I just want to mention that Pula (Pola) was one of the most important centers for Byzantine Empire (Roman Empire) in early centuries after western part fell.

Also ofcourse Pula/Pola was important city in Histria for Roman Empire (Western) until 476. In fact Pula's (Roman) Amphitheatre is maybe the most preserved (in world) of it's kind after that one in Rome ofcourse :).

There are often various music concerts there, from croatian and world-wide known musical-artists.

Many Italians lived in Histria before WW2, Italians lived mostly in Coastal area of Histria and Croats in inland of Histria, map from 1910:

Ofcourse, even today many Italians live there, Histria is very well known for that, Croats and Italians live there like...They don't make any difference between each others, both Italians and Croats in Histria speaks Italian & Croatian.

Radin in the interview says that nowadays, unlike in the past, 80% of the marriages are mixed (Italian/Croat).

Totally true.

Histrians are totally mixed between croats and italians, and they all speak both languages. Here in Croatia we sometimes have feeling like Histria is another "state" because they dont come often outside of Histria on universities in rest of Croatia... :D.

They are truly great ppl, only they're closed to themselves. They find most things in common with us Dalmatians because of songs, traditions etc..., but with rest of Croatia...they rarely interact.

Isn't Dalmatia already a state within a state? So Histria is a state within a state within a state. :D

Histria and Dalmatia are very beautiful, both the nature and the villages.

No no... Dalmatia is totally separate region, it has nothin to do with Histria, Histria is another region, let me show you :)

So, this is Dalmatia (red color on map):

This is Histria (yellow color):

:)

Means totally different regions.

But both Histria and Dalmatia shares similar customs and traditions, also we speak same/similar dialect, we have similar Mediterranean songs, games etc...

The only difference is that we Dalmatians are much more temperament people and Histrians are like... Northern Italians lol, into themselves :).

We often say for Histrians; they are so boring... haha, but we don't mean anything bad by that, just stereotype lol: boring :D.

Yes, both regions are beautiful.
