Why not? In japanese movie The Monster X Strikes Back, President Nicolas Sarkozy is interpreted by an Iranian actor. (And he has a romance with his Japanese interpreter "You are my Arch of Triumph and I am the Eiffel Tower, which wants to penetrate you".
