There's an ongoing series about the 1922 Greco-Turkish war. It covers the real story of a Turkish agent who infiltrated through the Greek army during the 1919 invasion of Izmir. Mainly a love drama but with a good historical theme, features the same couple from Binbir Gece. Greeks are not really demonized, it also has Greek characters. I think the series currently airs in Spain and Serbia.

I was about to ask if there was going to be a subtitled version, but ofcourse Serbs are fans of Turkish history. Seems interesting, hopefully it's not full of propaganda and doesn't end up like the series about Suleyman.

Probably Croatia as well; it has a page here in this Croatian TV: http://www.rtl.hr/programi/serije/11859/ranjena-ljubav/

If you put Turkish actors as Greeks, you end up like this. It's just one of the many flaws of the series tho. Typical Doğan Media production.

Yeah they don't look typical Turks. But wouldn't say they're too much off from the average.

The curly guy looks a bit like my dad (he's not curly but the facial features)

The guy on the far right is a good stereotypical depiction, with that moustache lmao

IMHO the most Turkish-like look had not the 3 actors who played accused Turks but the actor who played the Czech detective (the last man at right side)

Many Turks believe Greeks are much lighter than themselves for some reason. That might be the reason Doğan Media chose them to play Greek characters. If Greeks were the producers, Turks would have been portrayed like Orcs anyway.
