Dear All,

I am losing weight.

My daily routine is this:

05:00 Drink lots of water
06:20 Meditation
07:00 Yoga
09:00 Eat Breakfast - Yoghurt and protein shake
10:00 Water
11:00 Protein shake
12:00 Water
13:00 Green vegetables
14:00 Water
15:00 Protein shake
16:00 Water and Swimming for 20 minutes
17:00 Green vegetables
18:00 Water
18:30 Meditation
19:00 Protein shake
20:00 Water
21:00 Bedtime

The green vegetables are spinach, beansprouts, cucumber and celery.

The protein shake is soya protein isolate and I put cardamom and stevia sweetener with it.

The yoghurt is low or high fat Greek style.

I take small amounts of coconut oil and olive oil with my protein shakes and with the vegetables, if cooked.

RESULTS:

24/10 85.2kg 'belly' 104cm

25/10 84.7kg 104cm

26/10 84.0kg 103cm

27/10 82.7kg 100cm

28/10 82.3kg 100cm

Someone suggested that if I lose too much weight too quickly I could develop saggy skin. I have been losing on average 0.58kg per day.

My GP said that if this continues beyond another week, I should introduce some carbohydrates.

A personal trainer suggested that I should be eating about 180g of carbs a day, after I have completed the cutting phase to switch my body over to an Atkins metabolism, and that I would not sag even if I did not do this. He said that I should include some carbs or I will find myself putting on weight when the diet is over.

I love the diet, I never want to end!!!

A friend said, 'be careful, or you will sag.'

My father said, 'you won't sag.'

The yoga classes that I attend come with a nice muesli breakfast, if I want it, perhaps I will join the others for breakfast if my weight loss continues to be so dramatic.

It feels wonderful to be losing weight and my energy levels are have rocketed.

:thumbs up

I want my belly to be GONE and I want to be super-fit!

This diet of yours sounds kind of extreme....as well as the weight loss rate...

I lost 12kg in 6 months and I found this rate to be very convenient. I don't have shaggy skin now and I didn't starve myself.
I followed a reasonable, low-fat, no-alcohol diet and I ate mostly vegetables (steamed and fresh), steamed chicken fillet, steamed fish, fresh fruit, etc. You shouldn't have to starve yourself, just follow a balanced and healthy diet.

Plus, you were fine last time I saw you. I remember how you whined about some extra weight you had but it was nothing special, you only needed to drop 2-3kg and do more abs exercises imo. :)

I have gone back into my yoga and meditation practises, and much more firmly than before, and losing weight has been hugely beneficial for me as already I can achieve asanas which were impossible before, because of my flab.

I would say that the routine was inspired by something I cannot explain. It just came into being or fell into place, as did the diet.

One moment I was a couch potato, the next, I found myself up and ready to destroy all entropy and negativity!!!

I would agree that the weight loss is extreme, but if I feel good and I have the energy to do what I am doing, I cannot see what the problem is.

My weight has now increased 0.4kg since yesterday.

That is quite an increase.

I hope that is muscle mass. ;)

daily weight isn't important, that's just water, or bowel movements! :p personaly I found internet game addiction caused me to lose weight.. but I've quit them now, sigh expect it to all be back on soon!

Fortis, if that works for you.. cool but I think that would drive me insane after 2 days, and I would start killing small children for their sweets in a week!

There is a solution to the sweet cravings:

Robinsons nasty diluting juice, with artificial sweeteners, after a while, it tastes as good as Belgian chocolate. ;)

Slimline tonic and diet lemonade. The tonic tastes ok.

I used to crave sweet things all the time, and I used to put sugar with everything. I do not now, and that feels good.

Also, to keep the taste buds active, chew nice minty chewing-gum, again, sugar-free.

The daily weight issue is strange, but being able to reach those asanas which were previously blocked by flab is amazing, the flab has gone from my arms and legs.

Which brings me to a question, what is the general pattern of male weight loss?

Also my calorie intake is roughly:

Protein shakes 4 x 78 kcal (I might double this) = 312 kcal

Spinach 55 kcal

Bean Spouts 200 kcal

Yoghurt 166 kcal

Which is a scary 733 calories a day. WHAAAAAT?!

I might double the protein intake, but that would still be ridiculously low, and I am not even hungry. Surely, I cannot fail to lose the belly by this method.

Spinach helps to keep the digestive system moving.

The trick behind having eating every 2 hours is that I never feel hungry, and I take water inbetween those small meals.

The foods with some carbohydrates are placed after some exercise or midday, and an equal distance apart from each other at 9am, 1pm, and 5pm, just when needed. This routine is a master routine for me, and one which I will carefully modulate over time.

In anyone wants to know, the order of fat-loss to observe is this:

While searching though some of the popular fitness forums, I came across a post which listed the types of fat detailing which were the easiest to lose.

From easiest to hardest:

Visceral fat
Deep abdominal fat
Upper superficial abdominal fat
Lower superficial abdominal fat
Hip and thigh fat

It should be noted however, that since most men don't carry hip and thigh fat, the lower superficial abdominal weight ends up being the most difficult to get rid of for most males.

Prior to puberty, little boys and little girls have essentially identical fat patterns.

What happens hormonally basically determines an individuals fat patterns. After this period, research shows that fat cell patterning is essentially 'set' at that time. So the typical male is testosterone dominant, while the typical female will be estrogen/progesterone dominant. This determines what pre-adipocytes (basically dormant baby fat cells) develop to store weight after that. So girls typically get hips, thighs, and breasts and boys get fat on their stomachs.

Essentially, if you developed hip and thigh fatty tissue during puberty, for whatever reason (and note that there are some odd shifts in fat patterning happening these days; I'm seeing more and more girls with visceral fat) you developed fat cells in your hips and thighs, which act just like a typical female's lower body fat in terms of getting super lean.

With that said, you cannot localize fatty tissue removal. Fat is burned off your entire body during exercise, not just the problem areas.

Remember, keep fit and have fun!

So, for myself, once the lower-superficial fat has gone, I probably do not want to lose anymore fat.

For the girls, it will probably be the hip and thigh fat which is the last to go, but different people have different fat patterns regardless of gender and yours might be atypical.

81.0 kg this morning!

The routine has relaxed into me including more tofu and a wider range of green vegetables.

I have been having one bowl of muesli in the morning.

My weight loss has slowed down. The fat loss seems to be continuing gradually and I am not hungry.

I have switched to soya yoghurt.

My weight has stabilised at around 79kg, and I am bored, so, I am going to make the first two meals of the day monofruit meals.

The first being melon, the second meal is citrus.

Lunch at 1pm will include soya and green vegetables.
