So what is the problem with someone asking you for money. Asking leaves the ball in your court, whether to give or not. You can say no.

I think it is only fair to contribute to a place one regularly frequents. Many people come here, use this as their playground without paying a cent for maintenance and complain when the place isn't running properly anymore.

It is the same as those people who go take their kids and dogs for a walk in the park every day, complain over the once-in-a-while uncut grass and then get uptight when they are asked to donate to the upkeep of the park they use each day.

The highlight here is on DONATE. Nobody is forcing you to do anything.
