It isn't. Who do you think specializes in first aid/medical in the battlefield and treat the wounds...

Wounded Iraqi Kurdistan soldiers to be treated in Poland?

07.03.2017 13:53
Iraqi Kurdistan wants its soldiers who were wounded in the conflict with the so-called Islamic State (IS) to be treated in Poland, the IAR news agency has reported.

Ziyad Raoof, the Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government to Poland, has said that talks with the government and local governments in Poland are underway.

“We have appealed for help to many countries, including Poland … to accept several or a dozen people for treatment, which is not possible in Kurdistan,” Ziyad said.

Some 1,300 soldiers from Iraqi Kurdistan have been killed and another 8,000 wounded in fighting since IS launched its campaign in Iraq in 2014.

Ziyad said that some Polish provinces have indicated that they may offer help, but he declined to go into detail.

Peshmerga forces from the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan are considered the most effective armed forces in the fight against IS, the Polish IAR news agency reported.

IS forces have all but been pushed out of Iraq, as fighting continues to liberate Mosul, one of the country’s largest cities. (vb/pk)
