I remember when I first join the apricity I was reading the Portuguese users speaking one of the many bullshit about politics in Brazil, one of them claimed that the US is less segregated now than Brazil because Obama was president and here never had anyone dark in the same position. But the time has come...
First of all I do not know why these people insist on talking about a country that they does not have minimal knowledge:

Nilo Procópio Peçanha (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈnilu proˈkɔpju peˈsãɲɐ]; 2 October 1867 – 31 March 1924) was a Brazilian politician who served as 7th President of Brazil. He was Governor of Rio de Janeiro State (1903–1906), then elected Vice-President of Brazil in 1906. He assumed the presidency in 1909 following the death of President Afonso Pena and served until 1910
He was frequently described as being a mulatto[2][4][5][9] and often ridiculed in the press for his skin color.[1][7][8] During his youth, the local Campos dos Goytacazes social elite alluded to him as the "mestiço do Morro do Coco" (the half-breed from Morro do Coco district).

Alberto da Costa e Silva says that Nilo Peçanha was only one of the four Brazilian presidents who hid their African ancestors, the others Campos Sales, Rodrigues Alves and Washington Luis. President Fernando Henrique Cardoso confirmed that he was a descendant of a slave.

Having distant African ancestors doesn't make one non-white necessarily. I have no idea why you wrote in Portuguese, so only Portuguese speakers can understand your second post.
