Surname is Campanian.

I can definitely see the Irish influence in his facial structure, though he does have some Southern European traits too (the eyes).

Brown eyes (here, in his case, "hazel eyes") is widespread in many Central European countries too.

For the shape of the eyes, I do not know if there is a form "typically of the South", insofar as all the types of eyes are findable in the Center and the South of Europe; It is only in Finland or in Sweden that a precise form of eyes can be distinctly observed.
