SAA 2017 abstracts are now online (see here). Thanks to Sarkoboros for the remainder. I reckon dead cat bounce man Johannes Krause is gonna steal the show this year, unless Afrocentrics get him beforehand. Stay alert Johannes.

Ancient Egyptian Mummy Genomes Suggest an Increase of Sub-Saharan African Ancestry in Post-Roman Periods

Krause et al.

Egypt, located on the isthmus of Africa, is an ideal region to study historical population dynamics due to its geographic location and documented interactions with ancient civilizations in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Particularly, in the first millennium BCE Egypt endured foreign domination leading to growing numbers of foreigners living within its borders possibly contributing genetically to the local population. Here we mtDNA and nuclear DNA from mummified humans recovered from Middle Egypt that span around 1,300 years of ancient Egyptian history from the Third Intermediate to the Roman Period. Our analyses reveal that ancient Egyptians shared more Near Eastern ancestry than present-day Egyptians, who received additional Sub-Saharan admixture in more recent times. This analysis establishes ancient Egyptian mummies as a genetic source to study ancient human history and offers the perspective of deciphering Egypt’s past at a genome-wide level.

Update 31/03/2017: Courtesy of Sarkoboros via Twitter: ancient Egyptians basically lack SSA affinity beyond other Eurasians until Roman times. See here.

So why do some Ancient Egyptian statues look clearly Sub-Saharan influenced influenced?

Ancient Egyptians were a purely Neolithic people, probably the most recent surviving Neolithics who were unmixed with European Hunters in any way.

What is funny is that the two biggest we wuz kangz groups (Afrocentrists and nordicists) were BTFO by science.

So basically, Ancient Egyptians would have been similar to Neolithic Levantines, and then over the millennia, Egyptians accumulated around 20% Sub-Saharan (Copts have less than the Muslims), which seemingly increases as you move south toward Sudan.

I also suspect that if we got samples from Malta and Sicily in the Neolithic, the Sicanians would have been highly influenced by people who were Egyptian-like.

My guess is it is a combination of people moving northward up the Nile from southern Egypt, admixture with Nubians, and Sub-Saharan slaves brought by the Arabs from Sahelian West Africa.

People who cling on their ancient civilizations are losers anyway

Not really. The Nordicists were validated. Ancient Near East = Nordic, dumbass. I swear to God if I ever find out where you live, I will kill you for my own mental well being.

Neolithic Levantines didn't have cranial indices of 84 and head breadths of 160mm.

Only Nordic and East Asians did.

People seriously underestimate Mongoloid influence in Dynastic Egyptian sculptures as well.

because genetics phenotype. Modern Egyptians (post Ptolemaic for me) have more SSA admixture from other parts of black Africa that Ancient Egyptians did not interact with

Ancient Egyltians and the Ancient Southern Levantine population definitely had overlap. Wether the torah characters were real or not doesn't matter, what matters is that the stories were written in ancient times and that the Torah has many of its Levantine Characters escape to go hide in Egypt or confused for Egyptians even the New Testament writes the same about Jesus. This points to a strong overlap otherwise writing those details wouldn't have made any sense especially the parts of them being confused for Egyptians.
