They're not. SE Europeans, whether Romanian, Sicilian, Greek, etc. have no Amerindian DNA, and are not particularly close genetically to Spain.

From my experience, southern Italians (including Grande) have very large eyes. Most Amerindians and mestizos do not (more Asiatic eyes). Thus I'd expect more evenly balanced mestizos to pass better in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, etc.

I ve always admitted differently from other ethnicities in this forum who are obsessed with nordicness or sipposed strange blood purity; that Italian do overlap sometimes with classical South American tyoes. Clearly today we mostly lack the east asin morphology you can find in some if them thought; there ARE some people in Italy who are as dark as the darkest Latinos.

Sometimes we have even pseudo east asin look (rare but we can have them as unique in some rare people)
